I've seen enough in Lachie Ash to know he's going to be a very good player and at least to justify selecting him. We needed to select Henry, or we could have gone for Weightman or even Bergman. We already selected Young, and Serong so needed someone else other than Will Day.

I've seen enough in Lachie Ash to know he's going to be a very good player and at least to justify selecting him. We needed to select Henry, or we could have gone for Weightman or even Bergman. We already selected Young, and Serong so needed someone else other than Will Day.

Ash is a pretty good half back, but you find them like peas nowadays. Henry isn't close, ok player with some talent but no.

In hindsight we would have picked Pickitt. Georgeades potentially at the time but we got Treacey in 21. De Koning would have been handy but we did pretty good in that draft.

Crows had to pick Day as a local player who's a straight up replacement for losing Sloane.
