Umps couldn't be quick enough to blow the whistle for Port in Q1 and for Hawthorn in Q2.

I think every free kick bar one was clearly there in the first quarter. Maybe a team got rewarded because a) they were hard at the tackle, and b) the opposition weren't clean.

Teams, and supporters, need to take ownership of the free kick count.

Hawks got the frees they deserved in the second after not buying a free in the first.
Port couldn't buy a free in the last 5 mins of the 2nd, but they got a ride early in the game.

Let's not confuse commentary with being unbiased. They've never endorsed frees for the hawks. They even highlighted a free to Watson early in the year as a duck in which he was standing upright
