JHF headbutting a leg Selwood style and getting a freekick was good. None of the so called neutrals had an a issue with that. Or multiple deliberate out of bounds by Port, or Chol running too far even though he bounced it, or when Impey was held and impeded after handballing and should've been awarded a 50m. Or the dangerous tackle in the first quarter. No problem

Jarman Gimpey throwing his hands to his head after being caught cold in the dying minutes is the lasting image of Hokball. Little cheats had a game plan, got on a role and could’ve gone all the way. Alas, a 5 word online post steeled the opposition’s resolve and cost them the chance. Next year, everyone knows the plan, the umps know the tactics, and sh*t suddenly gets real.

You should give Jack your Wizard’s hat Watson, he just made a flag disappear!

100%, add chol flinging his head into the ground and then the little fella doing it to. Was caused by the player being tackled.

They certainly made Dogs flag disappear. How good was Ginni in the second quarter last week? Chin up

He also had his wings actually go one on one in a negating role. All year the Hawks wings have folded back to play as the 7th and 8th defender and then used their elite kicking with little pressure to kick-start their offence.

Their half forwards push up and play as traditional wings and the opposition wings get sucked into defending them leaving guys like D'Ambo and Amon to float free back and then have little pressure once they get the pill.

Last night the Port wingers just followed the Hawks wingers into their back half and created even more congestion and pressured them enough so they could not set up play.
Agree with all of that.

I think Port basically played man on man defence all night which the Hawks struggled with.

And then the Hawks dropped back to a zone defence when Port had the ball which left Port players free for chip kicks everywhere - which Port used to take the pace out of the game and gain control.

Hawks have maybe a 3 year window. 2 left? Players still young but strategies get sorted pretty quickly by oppo these days, just ask Dees and Pies. The fantastic 2nd half of the year, has no real meaning for the future. A big chance was missed last night. They took Ports best shots, and were finishing strongly until Sicily's poster. Great game, but missed opp that may not come again.
Bloody hell - Hawks have gone from tanking rabble to a rapidly closing premiership window in 10 games

Do premierships where you exploit the rules by rushing 15 behinds to relieve the pressure count?

Geelong have been rushing behinds all this year, more than anyone else. You rushed some extra behinds in 2008, we still would've won by several goals. Notice you had no issues with Duckwood, chappy and Stevie J playing for frees in 2008 but still lost

Hawthorn supporters of all people trying to take the high ground on sportsmanship is absolutely hilarious

These are probably the same people that defended Alastair Clarkson for all his many, many indiscretions.

Awwww have the poor hawk victims had enough... The rest of us will move on when we're good and ready, and not before.

That 1 loss should of been by 100 points if not for horrible kicking.
Not 100 but probably more 70-80. You still did kick 16.14 so it wasn't completely terrible

Not too dissimilar to last night's game in that we were completely outplayed. Last night we held up better down back
