Re: Podsiadly's bump on Adam Selwood

Although Brereton was trying to squeeze some mileage out of Kelly's tackle on Kerr when his knees slid into him in the first 1/4.

Just seen your location rabbi, the little place in Ann st where I grew up and kicked a footy around as a kid sold not long ago in the high 300 we sold it for 85 about 15 years back.

Brereton the blokes alright until it comes to Geelong and he becomes unhinged, much like me with Hawthorn:D

Yep, I detected a clear attempt by Brereton to place the noose around Kel's neck.

Re: Podsiadly's bump on Adam Selwood

We'll just bring in Barry Halls defence team if need be and argue there was no bump and it should be fine.

Won't get a week. Perfect bump. Shoulder on shoulder.

Selwood already done the right thing by saying he didn't feel the hit.

If you're reading Brent Guerra this is what you're meant to tell the docs you germ.

Re: Podsiadly's bump on Adam Selwood

I'd go along with the fact that the journos are looking for a few story angles in a week which can get boring pretty quickly. With the Johnson/Pods situations (and I'm reluctant to even call Pods' a situation) and Milburn/Mooney waiting in the wings, it gives them something to write about, if only for another twelve hours. I usually don't let the MRP get to me, but if he's cited for that, it's just about time to give up. Brilliant bump.

Re: Podsiadly's bump on Adam Selwood

From a footy point of view - Finals footy , tough bump , no blood , no elbow , play on.

From a cynical point of view - AFL would want his "story" in the GF

From a Selwoods point of view - its was a windy day , I had a cold , my arthritis was playing up , dodgy vindaloo .. Pods who?

from a mrp point of view - spin the wheel

I highly doubt the AFL are going to let the MRP take anyone out of the grand final for something soft like that. Football has fallen a long, long way if they do.

Selwood, who had not been able to gain possession, was able to brace himself for the collision. Most of the impact was absorbed by Selwood's shoulder but the reverse-angle camera footage showed definite contact from Podsiadly's upper arm to the back of side of Selwood's head.
The AFL tribunal rules state a player must be charged over a bump, irrespective of whether the bump is reasonable in the circumstances, if it involves ''forceful contact'' to the opponent's head

Re: Podsiadly's bump on Adam Selwood

The article is written by Jessie Hogan who has got about 3 calls right all season.

You Pie flogs are grasping at straws if you think Pods will be suspended for that....signs of desperation in my book. Watch the slo mo....its a good fair hard bump...and acknowledged so by Selwood who advised the medical staff accordingly ( Please note Guerra!! ya germ! )

If you are the champion unit you Pie supporters say you are you should want Geelong at absolute top strength to shut up the naysayers who say you have shot your bolt.

The desperate hope that Geelong will be weakened says plenty.

Re: Pods possible Report

Jesse Hogan is an absolute **** for attempting to tip Pods in.

Not sure if Jesse is a boy or a girl but whatever gender it is, it needs to be admonished for such muckraking on grand-final eve. The only incident worthy of a mention is the Lee Brown one where he copped Lewis very high and spun him into a cartwheel due to the head-high contact.

"It" has a history of making very poor calls and this one seems to be a directive from the backrooms of the Westpac Centre based on fear factor.

Flog journalism.

Re: Pods possible Report

Jesse Hogan received keys to a new Lexus last night courtesy of the collingwood football club. Total flog. Caro will have something to answer for - for crap journalism like that.

And to use dermie as your reference is all class. The age should sack him.

Couldn't agree more. It's hard to tell what "it" is even when you see its photo in The Age. Regardless of its gender, this Hogan is an absolute Flog. I've lost track of the times this tool has tried to do Geelong players in on a Monday morning. Friggin' disgrace.

The funny thing about it was there was a 1000 word essay about the big bad Geelong players and 10 words about Browns incident just brushing it aside.

Yes there was contact with Selwoods head, but it needs to be deemed "forceful". Can't see the MRP finding it to be forceful enough in a prelim.

Re: Podsiadly's bump on Adam Selwood

Nothing in it, good bump, play on!!

Walls even said "in super slow mo, pods sending out a message not to get in his way" and that is it.
If they thought there was anything in it they would have been up in arms.
Selwood wasnt injured so pods may just cop a fine at worst.
