Yer Plugg3r just wont post in a fair and mature manner. He always wants to cyber grapple with everyone and quite frankly it scares me. Everyone's on egg shells around Plugg3r incase he goes all American Postal worker on us. RE -Lane....just don't think it would be an intelligent move by the high flying Hawks to employ him, but, It's just an opinion.

Haha Stephen you crack me up, if you cant cyber grapple then dont hop in the ring. :thumbsu:

And fully agree with teamwork, the funny thing is when we lost in the 1st final all we heard was about the excuses etc we were supposed to have said. Though Saints would never drop to that standard of the Hawks would they? Haha, I just love it how the Saints core believe 100% that they're a superior club then anybody else. Maybe there administration should take over Brisbane Lions or something seeing as they have such a great "culture". :thumbsu:

There's no doubt hawks played better on the day, nobody is disputing that or has said anything of any other sort.

Nobody's ever mentioned any injuries, players out or anything like that, which is what the Hawks would always bang on about whenever they lost.

Taking what a drunk coach said at whatever AM the night after losing a Grand Final isn't exactly the best source. Knowing Jim, Bradbury's lucky he didn't try and kiss him, he's done worse.

Now come on Saint, thats no way a superior club like Cairns Saints should act after losing a GF that they had already printed T-Shirts for and had a bottle of champers on ice. What ever happened to those shirts, can we have a few? :thumbsu:

Sorry Plugger but we didn't print any XXXXL because we don't have any over weight experts who can't even get a game in the twos...

On a serious note... The Hawks outplayed Saints and it was obvious to everyone on the ground and watching the game.... The effort of the seconds side to get up to was outstanding.. Hats off to the coach and others who made the hard call on Pittirino, Roach etc and dropped them.

Enjoy it Hawks because it will be Round 1 2012 before we know it...

Oh it wasn't for me mate, it was going to be for my puppy. He is still in the toilet training stages atm and requires somewhere to go #2. Thought it would be sutiable and obviously you're not using the shirts for anything.

Does this shirt rumour go around every year? I heard that Port had theirs printed last year before Saints beat them.

But now that I'm hearing it about Saints and I'm pretty sure that isn't true, was it true about Port?

Gee you write some SHIT Plugg3r. Jim was not out at all after the GF, I can promise you that! He would not have said such a thing anyway. We write about on field stuff regarding your boys, not make up shit that someone said after 1,000 beers.

We have all said Hawks were the best side, all year and on the day. Printed T-shirts? Not the Saints way ********. We did however decorate our rooms on the Friday night to celebrate whatever the result.

How about all the texts, emails and rants that Hawks players and supporters have sent to those involved with the Saints? We don't care anymore... You won, well done. Blokes try to have a laugh on here and maybe get some footy chat. Stop bitching.

Too bad it was heard directed from a players mouth that they were printed ;)
As well as that, the champers was on ice as we were given the bottle. Same it was hot though as it was taken off ice in the 3rd Quarter :thumbsu:

First of all I didn't say anything about Jim, teamwork did. Though he was out that weekend if not that night anyways as I did see him in town. As for the shirts, you can be honest with us. Next i'll be hearing you didnt have Champagne on ice either :thumbsu:

FINALLY some sense has been spoken!

Was a wonderful day of football but i do believe AFL Cairns needs to have a serious think as to how serious the league is about hosting AFL level games at the venue. The wind advantage is gone far and beyond a JOKE! That was the only negative comment on the day. Two games of footy when the under dogs won, who could ask for more really? Unless the games went down to the last kick he he.

Big call by coach's in all the teams in the finals as ego's and reputations were put 2nd to form and team balance. The coach's in the 3 teams involved need to be praised, its not an easy job.

Has Wade Dixon signed? I was aware my tiges were talking to him but last text i got from someone in the 'know' was that it was just 'blah blah'. Can anyone confirm? The tigers would be looking great if they could snare the Wondonga Raiders recruit, very good addition ;)

Carn the tigers!

To confirm, the Saints boys were out both Sunday and Monday nights as i happened to pass them and join their 'ex' president for a beer to catch about some signage i am trying to get him to do for my business. Cannot confirm Saturday night tho.

That being said, after a big volume of beer 3 nights in a row, would be suprised if he could speak. A gem of a player he is and from all accounts, a gentlemen of the game. Cairns league will miss his qualities from what i know.

Bradburry (not sure of spelling) is an out and out star. Can see why he was considered by Westcoast Eagles as player of high calibre! How old is he? He moves better than most!

I never saw any shirts or heard anything about them. Just because people say things doesn't make them true. Might have been a bit of chinese whispers. If there were shirts, I'm sure they would have come out by Mad Monday.

As for champagne on ice, I'm not surprised if there was some, though I didn't see it. We had a heap of booze in the rooms after the game, not all that unusual to have a bottle of champers in case we won. That's a bit different to printing shirts.

Did Hawks do nothing to prepare for their victory? Did they have to go and buys supplies after the fact?

Everyone prepares in case they win, but shirts would be a bit silly.

Same thing happened with the netball, I believe there was a bottle of champagne ready and the rooms were decorated.

Pretty standard process for clubs in finals. Not sure there is much more to discuss there!

Although having an outlet in Port Douglas, i was told they did have shirts made up but i am not suprised at all by that. The club is very misguided in its direction, culture it tries to forward throughout the club and the coaches they employ!

Did anyone else see Tom Harley (Cats ex-premiership captain) is in Cairns atm.

I am reluctant to take alot of notice of someone who says they are a 'country star' as blokes who blow their own horn, often end up having to blow the coaches 'horn' to get a game as they arent what they have said they are in terms of ability levels. Are you in Cairns area? Do you play? or just an observer in area........

spot on Eagerreader and Saint, failing to plan is like planning to fail. So a few beers on ice is far from being arrogant about the result. I think Plugg3r is just trying to stir the pot. I remember all the Port Douglas boys had mo's for the final, what was that about?

Dixon might be a verbal yes, probably means nothing at the moment. Think a few recruiters are lurking in the shadows to snatch them before the clearance goes through.

Big weekend of racing this weekend in Melbourne with the Cox Plate. If Qantas let me I am heading down south to empty the wallet. So any tips other than Black Caviar would be apprectiated thanks lads!

BEST OF LUCK with Qantas Collo!

I am hearing Dixon is very reluctant, just rang Deano and he said he is talking but reality is being a Police Officer, shift work will mean he will miss games and training and that will be unsettling both personally and socially and is influencing his decision. Will keep everyone posted!

News from back in Wodonga was that he was on $400 a game and is a gem of a player. Comes up with a sore knee which on the hard grounds up here we will have to manage him well..... Fingers crossed!

Am excited for the clubs AGM as its been a good year for the tigers on and off the field. I am disappointed a missed a chunk of the year but with chit chat happening with players, fresh blood on the committee, new president and netball courts, its all going in a really positive direction!

Not being biased but the tiger theme song is a cracker! Looking forward to hearing it a bit in 2012

hi guys, just wondering about the stability of afl cairns atm. thinking about making the move to cairns soon and love my local footy. whats the go with the two bottom teams? is there a big gap between the top 4 and the bottom 4?

Stability? ha ha perhaps i have misunderstood your reference but i would consider 'stable or stability' referring to something thats very shakey. The Cairns competition, i believe, is the best regional competition outside of Bris Metro and QAFL levels.

The bottom two teams are foundation clubs of this league and are certainly very proud clubs going through pretty hard times. BUT in saying this, any club in Cairns would be a club to go to, it would reallyc ome down to where you live, if you looking to play immediately in finals and how much time you would to put into your footy as some clubs train, have more functions and do recovery sessions moreso than some.

Thoughts anyone?

Dixon will be a super player for whoever he plays with next yr even if he can only play a handful of games...

Guessing Pluggers dog doesnt get walked much... might have to call the RSPCA...

Bradbury all year I thought was Hawks best against Saints when we played them and Langford played very well in the GF but Plugger has a love affair with Martin, Pies, Hot Chips and Ellich....

dont wanna play, just watch. to old to play anything these days. haha

If you live out the Beaches Central Trinity as poor City Lions don't make great viewing , In Town either Saints, Nths or Hawks (however Hawks will be looking for a new home soon) ... If you live South of Cairns then the Cutters...
