Sorry about sounding a bit like Sandra Sully with the late news here, it's been a while since I graced this forum. Seems as if I missed a fair bit of action too!

You may have a great record over the last few years, but I believe beating Hawks on the big day still elude's you ;)

So this means that the Hawks weren't playing in the 1994, 1995, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2008, 2009 and 2010 grand finals? All this means is that the Hawks haven't made it to the big dance regularly enough to be beaten by the Saints. Seriously, this has to be in your top 20 worst comebacks. Maybe top 10. It certainly seems like a very odd thing to hang your hat on.

Also Plugg3r, don't you think getting into Saints about losing a grand final is a bit rich? It's like a Geelong supporter telling Travis Cloke that "we" won the premiership.

The Tigers theme song is certainly a winner, but it is far too early to call next years action. Certainly seems as if the Saints have a few outs, but it's all about the ins and that won't be settled for a while.

Sure about this part, eagerreader? I'm hearing a little differnt:confused:.

Heard from Josh Barnes who works with my son. Josh clarified it with Lance Dixon (pres) so pretty good authority i would think shavedham. But always open to new suggestions, what have you heard differently?

I am reluctant to take alot of notice of someone who says they are a 'country star' as blokes who blow their own horn, often end up having to blow the coaches 'horn' to get a game as they arent what they have said they are in terms of ability levels. Are you in Cairns area? Do you play? or just an observer in area........

I played in a couple of leagues back home (Gippsland) I had hip surgery and couldn’t play last year it would take me a little while to get back into any kind of routine. Not looking to go to a club where they train 4-5 times a week but looking to a developing club with a good club environment as I have a young family to keep in mind, who demand a lot of my free time, and they need to be happy also. What’s your club like eager? Where in cairns??

i will message you details but its a fun club. I have only come back to FNQ recently but was a member and on committee for a few years when my business allowed me. Love my tigers and loyal richmond supporter. We are a young club and like most, we gone through some hard times but without fear of making excuses, we have got a long way to go!

Saints, Hawks, Centrals, Port are very good clubs and have been right up there with the inclusion of souths in last 5 years. Norths is a club that is trying to be masters of the little things that lead to a more positive bigger picture.

If you are interested, message me privately otherwise as one of the other posts suggests, it really comes down to where you live as any of those teams i have mentioned, have some really great people associated and have their share of 'knobs' also he he present company in this forum excluded peoples!

eagerreader, I'm the last bloke that should be bunging shit on Mackay, but, Mackay versus living in Cairns! Hang on, instead of living on the GC, lets move to Mt.Isa (eye roll).

Is there any truth to the rumors lions might fold? Will this allow port 2 garner the wooden spoon next year? Stephen circumcision, pleasure too meet u. It comes to my attention that the hawks possibly are trying 2 pry lane away from the dogs spiritually with slanderous lies about his exit from coaching.. Norths are looking front runners for the flag next year already

This is what i know and has come from a CAFL Devel Officer....

Lions position in the AFL Cairns Comp for 2012 is currently being reviewed with the financial position of the club being examined by auditors. As i leaked last week, the AGM will be the venue for the club to release financial content of that audit and the clubs position for its members to vote on. However i feel the boat has already left the docks and sailed on this matter.

Tyson Lane will not be a head coach in 2012. Info has come to the surface that for personal reasons, he is not in a position to take a lead spot for the 2012 season 'however' he has not closed the door on an assistant role but unlikely be at hawks due to personal indifferences he has had with the club. Front runners at the cutters and port as lane nearly secured the port job at the start of 2011 season but due to the locality of his business in Cairns, it severely hindered his ability to get up the hill.

On the news front at tigerland, the club is stoked on the drafting of young pete yagarmoor and it has reinforced the club as a 'breeding ground' for good talent, club has reinforced its view on promoting the kids and all at tigerland are very keen to see the young cubs blossum this year with a view of finals footy but by no means are we at watsons considering we are front runners. Saints, Port and Hawks have earnt that position over the years and would deserving take that tag going into round 1 of 2012.

Attraction was family for the partner of the coach the cutters were so close to signing. But agree, Cairns is a much more attractive prospect!:thumbsu:

Where in Gippsland are you from?

As everyone said each club has there benefits. But it depends where you live.
Manunda and Souths are the 'big 2', Saints and Norths are similar, both have Netball clubs and are a bit smaller. Centrals I don't know about, Lions seem to be doing it tough ATM the moment but if 2 or 3 good club people get on board I reckon they will be back. And if you live in Port you would just play there, they are a good club.

As has been said before, it is what you make it. Every club has there good and bad points, Saints for example don't have the best facilities but it suits the club. If developing is your preference I would say North or Lions. If family is important, Saints or Norths are just ahead (for Netball reasons). If money is your concern.......;)

So if lions fold, do norths and Centrals have the most to gain? And will ex lions players still carry their 8 points?

Sorry to rain on your parade Grimey but the Souths Cutters also have a netball team. The netball teams as I should say, are known as the Stingers.:):)

That's what I'm saying, tamba. The job will still be up for grabs in January.

You seem to have some issues with South Cairns Shavedham. Did you want to talk about them? Either that or you have some very unreliable information being fed to you.

As for the coaching jobs at Souths, I had a couple of beers yesterday afternoon with the young Penguin and discussed that very thing. Truth be known, Tamba and myself are currently the front runners to take over the roles. So before you keep shooting off about South Cairns, maybe you might want to check the facts first.

It's not that hard to go through my posts to work out where I currently reside. So you say I'm talking out of school, but, then proceed to post that I'm possibly a Saints supporter, oh the irony! I worked out one thing whilst posting here and that's that you piss your pants at the drop of a hat. You deplorable sod, put more effort into getting your club a coach than crying in your soup over a few silly posts. Your club isn't exactly in the greatest shape to prick the ears of a coach thats got a decent resume, doofus. Oh and by the way.....love you (huge love heart).

Crawl back underneath the rock from where you came from.

In my view it was weak as piss from Martin. First he gets away with a jumper punch then he has a crack at a bloke who is bending over to pick the ball up. 'Tough, no, one of the weakest things i have seen. Hallas didn't have his greatest game in the GF but he wasn't alone. A year earlier he was probably BOG in the big one so enough said there. Why all the after season pot shots at Saints. The team has been in 5 straight Grand Finals won 3 in a row, not many teams could say that in recent time. Saints will be there again next year doing things the right way and once again everyone will be jealous of the their success cause its the only reason people have a crack at them.

I said to you before the GF and I'll say it again. Choke, choke, choke, choke, choke, choke, choke, choke, choke, choke, choke, choke, choke:eek::eek::eek:

Never knew that one Flinstone... My apologies. How long has this been the case?

Where does the club look for a coach? Or where do they advertise apart from Cairns? Is the Penguin back at the reigns at Fretwell? To credit the Souths, they do have some great people around the club.

heard it raining there pretty hard how footy go with bad rain?

Gob Bloth will have a field day with this...

Yep it rain hard down fast it came.. wet very the ground no good cricket to wet ... :D ..;)

Good to see Tigers and now South's get netball clubs... Was great initiative by the Saints few years back to be the first to do this.
Other clubs copying the Saints?? Must not be a bad club after all ;) Although don't think a netball team at Hawks would help poor Plugger jag a wife

Stephen circumcision, pleasure too meet u.

Oh look everyone, ShowNtell cracked a gag:eek::eek:. I don't think I've ever felt so embarrassed for a poster trying to be funny as I do for you right now.

Got anymore of those ripping gags up your sleeve? Would love to hear them, but in the mean time..............lets all laugh and point at ShowNtell:(:(.
