Can confirm that the Centrals coach Matt Cunningham has resigned as coach and also as a player......
Why???
It's far to involved to go into on here, just that he has resigned and has gone back to Victoria, He will be missed........
Oh ok.
Wanna hear my story??? Anyone???
Well, Port got up in an upset, even coming from behind over at Cazalys. This might be just the catalyst they need to get their season going in the right direction. Obviously, it can't hurt.
Saints forward line was again dominant. Lions kicked 13 goals, is that their best for the season? While the 5 leading goalkickers for Saints were again banging them from everywhere.
Souths continue to go from strength to strength and look to be favourites for 3rd spot on the ladder. It's going to go right down to the wire for that last spot in the finals and even Souths can't rest.
I still don't think Centrals will do much, without Crathern (injured, now coaching) and now their coach (who will not be missed). Can Port reel in Hawks, or will they both topple Souths at the business end? There will be some pretty interesting games for the rest of the year amongst those three teams, and Centrals may bob up for an upset.
The reserves Final 4 is now sorted, though the order may switch around, I'd expect Saints to stay on top.
Did the coach resign or was he sacked?
Tigers will win comfortably
Hawks will beat Lions, even if my just
Port will beat Centrals
And as much as you try to dress it up into an interesting competition, we all know that the tussle is for second place. Saints have too much of a budget for any other team to overcome.
Tamba, it is untrue that anything can happen in footy... For example, Lions will never beat Saints this season, and nor will anybody else. Go on Saint, get your back up and call me what you will. What I am, is someone telling it how it is.

You said a dirty word,
now go wash your mouth out with a Stubbie of Beer.
no more now
M
Mouth washed out with a stubble or four so should be clean now!
Lachrilly I never meant to bring it up as a focus point for further conversation, was just stating the bleeding obvious fact! For your sake, please would all on here speak no more in regards to the Saints budget. Happy?
Saint surely you jest when comparing two AFL teams to my comment??!
Unlike Essendon, Cairns Saints average a whopping 176 points per game while conceding an average of only 53 points. Giving them an average winning margin of 123 points per game for the first half of the season!! And yet you infer I am speaking nonsense when I bring up how ridiculously short priced a favorite Saints are to win the flag?? Just telling it how it is. Sorry to stunt your constant efforts to downplay this fact.
Now, tell me I'm a bad gambler to bet on Saints winning the flag!
Speaking with 2 members of their board on Saturday I asked & they were happy to stop rumors,
he left, didn't like being disapplined for an incident & the other matter well he had a key as well & the assumptions.
all things were caught on CCTV. They are trying to keep it in house if possible if not the constablary will run with one of the matters. A life member may be stripped of their award as well.
You say they are trying to keep the matter in house, yet they are quite happy to discuss the issues when asked by you. If they are tring to keep it in house then no comment should have been their reply to you.
There is more to the issue than has been communicated to you. As the saying goes "there are 2 sides to every story" and you have only been told one.
There are a lot of rumours and stories going around with regard to all this, some are fact but there is a lot that is just that, rumours.....
If somebody's heard a rumour and you ask somebody who might know and they say 'no comment', most people would think the rumour they heard was fact. It's very difficult to say 'no comment' if somebody has heard a rumour. Probably the same rumour we've all heard.
I admit that in the past favorites have been knocked off at the last hurdle. Port Douglas in 2010 and Cutters a few times prior to that. Last year the favorites and best team of the year won in Hawks.
But, my point is that there's hasn't been such a dominant force in this competition, in a single season in memory. I'm happy to take bets if anyone thinks I'm wrong?
What odds do you think you'd get, Dontargue?
Skipping straight to GF day theoretically, I'd say you'd get about $1.10 ish for the Saints, while about $7-$10 on Norths (assuming they're the teams). In a two horse race, I'd take the $10 every day. Injuries, send-offs, a half-team bout of the flu, Liddy being on fire. There's plenty of things that could happen that would make $1.10 a terrible bet. History is just one indicator.
You're the kind of person a bookie loves. Feed them $1.10 and lose a little bit for a few bets. Then a roughie comes home and the bookie takes the much larger initial outlay.
Perhaps they're more raging favourites than the last couple of years teams, but that just means shorter odds.
If you'd backed the favourite in the last 10 years of CAFL, you'd be out of pocket by a fair way.
welcome young one
