any one had a crack at a mock post rumoured trades?

gonna assume the draft order =
1-WCE
2-NM
3-NM
4-Hawks
5-Dogs
6-Dees
7-GWS
8-Cats
9-Dons
w/ some GCS bids thrown in.

i really haven't watched/followed it enough this year.
ignoring bids & reading the ratings my uninformed predictions are;

1-WCE - Reid
2-NM - Curtin
3-NM - McKercher
4-Hawks - Duursma
5-Dogs - Sanders
6-Dees - Caddy
7-GWS - O'Sullivan (i wouldn't put a bid on Croft beyond GWS)
8-Cats - ?
9-Dons -
I think Dees take Osullivan but it could be Caddy

Either way GWS probably take Caddy if thats all thats left between Osullivan, Caddy and Sanders

Hope we look at Ashton Ferreira. WA Wingman. Played a few WAFL games late in the season 26, 15 and 25 touches. Played a bit of half back for WA in the champs. Great runner, would like to develop similar to Issac Smith and Mitch Duncan, play almost as a defensive winger who drops back to create overlap out of defensive 50. Would work nicely with McKay and Ridley intercepting.

More so if we don't go a Wilson or Hardeman early.

It says a lot about how far off the mark we are that our version of risk averse is the least hardball midfield option, to add to our staggering depth in this department, with a suspect kicking action and who couldn't get his body right.

If we can get out of this draft with some combo of decent sized, skilled movers like Darcy Wilson, Caleb Windsor, Charlie Edwards etc, I'd be happy.

And, now that Massimo is out, a small defender with some juice like Luamon Lual (Vic Country), who's maybe a late second, early third pick.

Cal was saying on gettable that norf haven’t even offered mckay a contract. I wonder if their threat to match under band 1 is an ambit claim

Think it’s been pretty open the whole year that they haven’t even offered him a contract, the same with st nilda and Gresham. It’s definitely postering.

I know I've been banging on about him forever but we really should look at drafting Oliver Eastland if we don't get Goldy. 25 years old so if he's at the level has 6-7 years in him, averaged 35 hit outs, 4 marks and a tick under 19 disposals a game in the WAFL this year for Claremont. At the very least he will dominate the VFL for us.

Draft watchers; how likely is it that Archer Reid is able to rise to play at AFL level in year one? I've seen his height and weight so that looks promising. Ability? Is he comparable with JVR?
JVR is a bit more mobile than Archer.
JVR did not play in his first season though did he?
Yep JVR did not play in his first year.

200cm guys arent usually as ready as 193cm guys of similar ability

You need to develop alot of strength as a 200cm guy

Agree

I was thinking him or Naismith

Dont like that there closer to the age of what we have but theyre probably happy to just be on a list and theyre not going to take any significant coin

Eastland is doing everything Darcy Cameon was

I am starting to wonder if Nathan Philactides is worth a look at for our 2nd rounder.

We don't have a heap of running defender depth, and he was reasonably highly rated at the start of the year.

eDPS what's your view of him?
