Lots of theories about who to take in this draft. I think we need to keep exploring who our pick 10 to wherever it ends up can buy in a trade.
It looks like we'll have the last or second last pick of the second tier group. I wonder if someone like Adelaide would risk their F1 alongside one of those early 20's picks for it.

At this stage I am very happy to move.

Poke around GC or Melbourne for their pick or look to acquire an extra F1 if possible.

If we want a midfielder replacing our pick with a future first might be better than picking Darcy Wilson.

might charge the MSD up a bit though. probably becomes more active.

SSP (1-2 signings0
MSD (2-4 pick)

ND (2-3 rds)
RD (1-3 picks)

Would you trade pick 10 if we pick up McKay and Gresham?

Tonight’s game is showing the need for speed and hardness
i think they are our priorities this draft- perhaps a forward as well

How do you fix all that in a single draft? Not to mention improving footskills and marking.

It's going to take years to flush the last decade of bad drafting out of the system.
Hasnt been terrible hasnt been excellent

I think we hold pick 9 live to the draft. See if a Watson, Caddy are available

And i still really like C.Edwards

i think at our pick it’s Sanders vs Leake vs Wilson for out first.

I’d really like all 3 or at least two of the group. Sanders is the best mid of the bunch while the others are more flankers who will get some mid time.

There’s some decent midsize flankers in that top 30 range so I think it 100% makes sense to take Sanders and try and get back in for one of the flankers later)

serious question

IF Sanders is there at our pick, would you take him?

ydc55 eDPS ?

Seems to be the most consistent midfielder this year. Simply meat and potatoes midfielder. Can he play other roles?
Yes, hes worthy of pick 9

Hes another big midfielder, he doesnt neccessarily play as huge as Cripps/T.Green but he can kick the football and break away

Can only see him as a winger if anywhere else but id say hes just an onballer

Although the kids are so capable these days in more than one position and learning another. Im yet to see too many top 20 picks that cant play half back

Leake has obvious talent but he isn't the type we should be spending pick 9 on.

Skinny but talented flankers like Leake are nice to pick up in the second round however, we should focus on inside mids, high running capacity mids and quality talls in the first round.

Ive been as critical as anyone about more midfielders, does Sanders offer a point of difference to what we already have? does he have the ability to play on a flank ?

Hes pretty pure as a midfielder

But so was Hobbs

His size is very different to our midfield, hes capable in the contest. Hes already on articles at 186/85

If the other 7 are gone and Sanders is left then im absolutely banking him

He will get close to playing at 90kgs id say

flankers who will get some mid time.

Sanders is a seriously good midfielder and at 185cm and 85kg he can play straight away if he had a good pre season. His point of difference is he is a big strong inside midfielder who wins the footy consistently and rarely plays a bad game. Consistent. Competitive. Likes a contest.

Now... we need a plan to get him. We haven't won a final in a while, maybe crying to the AFL might be worth a shot.

Actually all that has happened so far is he is in their academy . No word on concessions to make him eligible and secondly his old man has said he may just nominate to go in the open draft.

From a few reports it seems unlikely norf will get priority access to Sanders.

More likely pick 11 and a late first rounder next year.

Even if one of those guys is available it's addressing maybe a couple of those shortfalls at best... in a single player out of 22... assuming they actually make it as a best 22 player (have a look at the average number of games played by players taken at pick 9)
