Main concerns.. Drummond 2-4 weeks ..F*CK!!

To make matters worse.. Hartlett/Thompson/Hansen.. 0/0/0

...So theres nothing i can do here, there are no good cash cows worth trading for and in Drummonds case even if he misses the next 4 matches he will prob be the highest scoring back bar chad, shaw and bowden.


TRADES... atm the moment considering Hill (a now must have cash cow) in for Jetta.. Gives me 50k.. and also Simon Buckley out for Geary (97% and 90% gametime) also adds 85k

Pretty unhappy with my side at the moment but they will come good

Doesn't it depend on the level of the midfielders? picking 2 top mids and a rookie is different from picking two cheapies and a gun.

Also, a 72k rookie in the ruck is great guns.

2 rucks on the field, one on the bench just in case.

A mid-range who should not really be upgraded because he is serviceable.
No point getting those players in your team.

Kreuzer when he actually gets on the park will not get near Hampson's scores...he also is not guaranteed a spot in the team for the rest of the season. If he's not up to it he'll be straight back into the VFL. I think I'd fork out the extra 7k to get Hampson (as would anyone else with a clue, ie. not you).

A.Swallow played 56% game time against Richmond...and scored 72 points..now it has always been an issue for me, having players in my squad who just don't get TOG..!!
But in years gone by i have kept players like A.Swallow, because they are what i call, "KOOL" players (Players you love to watch)
The question is do i trade him, for a cheaper gun..not naming names..but you mite know who...giving me $183,400 to upgrade a B.Vince..who i also like but doesn't see enough G-Time to a gun....Thoughts??

The point I was referring to is more about the team, not the concept. Having Hodge-Tuck-Mitchell is fine IMO. I just dont think having Houli and Dyson is worth it as they both arent likely to average 80-85+(Which you're looking for IMO). If you have both + 1 rookie + Stevens you only leave 2 spots for elite players. It also means you gotta upgrade Houli, Dyson AND the rookie.

I learnt a lot from Monty's post on playing rookies and reading an article about last year's winner. Instead of trying to find rookies in all positions bar the ruck I thought I'd look primarily to the midfield. The amount of players available there means, theoretically, there are more bargains and also more opportunities throughout the year to pick up falling stars. Adcock, Burgoyne, Bruce, Lockyer, Scotland, Pendelbury etc.

If I can use my midfield selections as straight swaps then I'll have "saved" trades. 1 trade - vince to hill.

I'm in the same situation with Simon Buckley, i expected an average 70-75 but after struggling this week with only 66% gametime im more inclined to trade down to Geary who has played 97% and 90% in his to games, and gettign 90k in the bank, then upgrading Tuck when he raises to 200-250k

He did himself no harm on the weekend, but we are still waiting for Lewis and Crawford to come back. And Tim Clarke will be pushing for selection as well.

He had a rather average start to the season in his first game, but he played one of the best matches he has ever played against Freo, racking up disposals/DT points and if he continues similar to last week, he looks like a fantastic cash cow...Another thing to add, Dew's hammy went, so he may get more TOG, and that will make it easier for him to keep last week's score, 'in-reach' in future rounds...

Geary has been a revelation for me. Tuck I expected to do a little well and his recent game sitll doesn't really tempt me. Geary on the other hand seems to have found a niche. With Maguire and Goddard to return he will still have to fight and in the meantime Fiora and Clarke should make way.
