Virgil's coming last in BigFooty's Div. 3 league, take from that what you will...
Also, I wouldn't seperate people on this board unless you've got plenty of time (Which you might have..) & would like to be critisized, 'cause mate, I don't think anyone would respect your opinion, especially when your poor grammar is on-show...

That's why we come on here right?
To get other people to like us and for people to think we are gun Dreamteamers.

I bet Powaflag is dumbfounded by his exclusion from these Quality poster lists.

Agreed :thumbsu:

Okay so I think I might end up making two trades this week. First will be Jetta for Hill - pretty self explanatory.

Second trade, im not so sure about. Im thinking that I want Thornton in the side. If he is Carltons new link man, he will kill it this year. Plus his price is about to sky-rocket, so if he does drop off it will be easier to trade him out for an elite back.

This is my backline at the moment:

C Cornes
H Shaw
Birchall
Ellis
Mattner
Symes
Barlow
Hansen
Proud

Who is the best person to drop for Thornton? I think its out of Mattner and Symes - they are all roughly the same price. Mattner has shown a bit so far (providing run out of defence when Kennelly is tagged), Symes hasnt looked as good.

So yeah, Symes out for Thornton. Good idea?

almost sideways. don't gain that much from a trade like that...a bit of extra cash and maybe an extra 10-30points a week. and how many times will Kennelly be tagged? weakest link is probably Hansen, only because he didn't play this round.

Is it really that much of a sideways trade? Symes (and Mattner) dont look like increasing in price that much at this stage. Thorntons price is guaranteed of rising a fairly decent amount, making that trade up to an elite a lot easier. And thats only if Thornton drops off the pace - at his current output, he would be a keeper for the year. Dont know about the same from Symes/Mattner.

Means nothing. Anyone who has a clue about dream team knows that

My round 1 and 2 scores last year were around 1750 and 1800. Ended up finishing 67th with about 8-9 consecutive 2000+ to finish the season off.
This year my round 1 and 2 scores have been 1689 and 1842 (ranked 5,721). Not much difference from last year, i'm actually happy with those scores so far.

IMO, 80% of dream team is how you use your trades, and 20% is on your starting side. Use your trades right and you can go from 1500 in round 1 to 2200 in about round 12

:thumbsu: Exactly, and most of these dimwits will have no trades come rd 16 when injuries and soreness really start to kickin.

Agree with you 100% mate, There was a thread saying that everyones teams are identical, yes there are alot of simularities but, alot of inexperianced DT'ers trade of players after 1 bad game, eg. Dyson, Symes ect from last week...

How many people are not trading this week? I really can't find any reason too and am fairly happy with team whilst sitting at 449th. The structure though is what I'm most happy about, with my setup of plenty of guns and rookies. My forwards, rucks, centers are locked, while my backs could be a minor issue with Barlow.

On the popular trade of : Tippet to Hill, personally don't see a need for it unless Tippet is confirmed ACL later on. Not a fan of a rookie to rookie trade and especially with Gamble and Rioli I don't see that much of a benefit in price gain or points. Also with Hill's rising popularity if he has a form drop others could break away.

Exact same position as me.

Looks like I may trade Edwards though.
Not playing the role I thought he would be as it seems Corey Jones and or Grant have that role.
Playing way to deep for my liking, and just looks out of form.

Hey guys, just after a few opinions

I'm set on a Corrie - Hill trade, which will leave me with 253k

I'm thinking a possibility could be to trade out one of my reserve backs for an Osborne or Thornton.
At the moment i have Pfeiffer, S.D.Thompson and N.Brown in my backs, having to play 1 of them. Obviously i'll be keeping Pfeiffer, as he looks like he could be a solid emergency after his performance on Saturday night.
So this begs the question...Thompson or Brown. Either one for Osborne will leave me with just over 100k.

If i go with my gut and only do the one trade this week, I'll play Pfeiffer which wouldn't be the end of the world, but the prospect of Osborne getting up over the 300k mark is a tempting one.

One thing playing in the back of my mind is the imminent return of Crawford and Lewis, and the affect that this will have on Osborne. I haven't seen a Hawks game yet, so can anyone tell me where he is playing, how he is playing, and whether or not he is likely to continue to score so well?

Sorry for the essay, Cheers

Trades are always a tough call, I think you have to be patient with the trades.

Have a game plan in place.

Certain players should be keepers (Assuming no MAJOR injury) NEVER TRADE!!!!

Cornes, Cox, Cross, Corey....

Certain Players are cash cows.. TRADE WHEN THEY REACH MAX VALUE

Geary, Palmer, Gamble, Tippett, Pfeiffer.....

Certain Players are midranged. UPGRADE TO GUNS

Dyson, Symes, Mattner, Didak, Wood....

Now the trick is to use the cash cows to upgrade your mid ranged players.
If a cash cow such as Geary is averaging 50 points per game, once his value reaches $220,000ish then he is ready to be traded out, as he has reached his maximum value.
You then trade Geary out to release some money. This is when you upgrade say a Dyson to a gun.

That is the basic idea behind trading, in my eyes.
