I think people need to know the difference between a "good base" and a terrible game. Live 1 was a "good base" because its mechanics and gameplay represented football. WW have shown themselves firstly incapable of doing more than a kick to pack-fest (which I expected), while every single gamemode they have included isn't worth playing because of basic AI errors. I can't believe they actually scripted "catch" as a commentary line, and recorded it. What about a "grubber"? What about banana's curving both ways? They have repeatedly shown no effort to replicate the sport. What about the goalkicking? Is this ripped from their rugby game? Because that isn't how goalkicking works. Nice AI by the way, everyone has a direct matchup and just mimics their actions while they sprint around the ground?

*However, the "ball in dispute"/handballing part of the gameplay is good.

I expected one-dimensional gameplay and a career mode. The career mode doesn't even have trading AI so the only thing left to do is master the marking timing, and then the game is done.

Surely some nerd can mod a basic career mode into Live 1 and set us up for the next 10 years.

This is it. Live 1 felt like it was developed by people who had some idea about the game and a vision as to how it should be implemented in a video game. They produced something that was far from perfect but which clearly plenty of thought and planning had gone into. There was therefore quite a bit more depth to its gameplay than I think a lot of people give it credit for. Evolution looks like the same stuff we've seen from other AFL video games in the past. It's just a constant one-on-one kick-to-kick fest. In Live 1, you could easily switch the play or create space, and running and carrying the ball was supremely satisfying. It was not perfect by any means, but it really was a solid base to work on. AFL Evo just looks like the same old crap we got in the '00s.

And also, I can barely remember AFL 2004-2007, but surely this has to be close to the most FF dominant game of all time? I could get anyone to kick 10 from there.

GOAT. Literally had more features and less bugs. The snap kick button meant goals from impossible angles.... Ai trying to fend of and getting smashed by 3 blokes... Going the bump instead of tackle then seeing the ball carrier get the injured icon :'( i really need to plug in my PS2

That's exactly right about Big Ant understanding the sport. That's why when I went back from Live 2 to Live 1, I noticed the drastic change in quality. De-evolution is no different.

Lmao do you work for Wicked Witch? It's incredibly obvious that this game is not up to AFL Live's standards. Did you not read the part where the game glitches out if your player gets suspeneded?
Lol all I am saying is if you don't like the game done play it, there are people here who actually enjoy it. If there is a glitch fine, they need to fix it, what game doesn't have glitches? Lol you people have your own agendas

Have played a few games, certainly enjoyable albeit with a few annoying elements, most of which is basically getting used to the controls.

For the people who have one on one's everywhere, change your kick out tactics to lead and the oppositions one to zone, you'll get loose men to take marks

Also changing your tactics to fast and attacking for most lines will bring about a lot of overlapping run and for the guys who can't mark, lock on to a player first or draw a man and pass it to the loose guy

According to WW this was recoded from the ground up.....WTF!!!!????

FK WW, FK TruBlu and FK the AFL. Scum bags.

The basic bugs that have been overlooked are a joke. WW will not patch this - they are scum. TruBlu is run by scum who steal money for a living. The AFL are braindead loser scum - Darren Birch needs to be fired.

I for one hope WW goes bankrupt soon. We need Ross and BigAnt if this thing ever has a hope.
yeah big ant are great don bradman is still broken. **** me this site has a hard on for big ant

Second game in and we've been given the captaincy. Fair to say my player spent a good 20-30 minutes in the bathroom before the game. Didn't help that he went to Chapel St the night before on one of the lads fake id's.

Apparently once you gain the captaincy, you are able to access the team lineup via the pause menu and move players around. This means that, rather than sitting on the bench watching the game for ages, you can put yourself back on the game. So, once you get taken off, watch the game for a little bit to recharge stamina and then put yourself back on via the team lineup screen.

Yep can confirm this works

It seems unless you're a midfielder or running around like a headless chook you can manage your stamina to stay on longer (I'm playing full games as a forward pocket without being benched and without captaincy)

Anyone unable to access the options menu?
Has a upside down T instead of the centre button on Ps4. I've downloaded the patch and nothing changed

Have started to get the hang of the game, still working on my marking timing.

The biggest things that have helped me enjoy the game are playing with the end-to-end camera. Can see a lot of the play unfolding. Second thing is turning auto-assist kicking off. That has been a great help and I can put the ball in space in front of players to run on to
