I doubt any club would fall out of the top 8 with an extra million bucks in the salary cap every year.

In fact, they should do the same for Melbourne and Port to help them get on their feet.

Preaching to the choir. Sydney is an expansion club, they get handed everything on a silver platter. With this sort of free ride they'll snag a flag every five or six years, easy.

AFL will be handing them out like candy to the two new clubs in the next few years as well. Ugh.

I wonder how we could have gone over the past six years with that extra little bit in the tank.

you had the stars and didnt win. Sydney take players struggling to get games at other clubs and win premierships. How many priority picks have sydney had??

Yeah, but training wheels for 30 years?

The market there has finally been consolidated. It's time they stood on a level playing field.

You would have at least two flags under your belt and be a contender this year.

Geez, that was so hard to watch in the final minutes. Hawthorn are a terrific side, and belted us from stoppages, but somehow we came through. Fantastic stuff. :)

The hats have always been for the players anyway. Then when West Coast won it there was a media fracas because Judd, Cousins and all those idiot Eagles acted like shitheads to the kids after the GF. The next year Geelong were so self conscious about being seen in the same light that they handed the hats to the kids in order to look good.

Do let the facts get in the way of your story there Champ.

They introduced the hats in 07.

No...

Why would they give the players caps? That's just stupid. They were always meant for the kids.

Not saying it's a good idea.

Not sure about others on here, but I'm happy for Sydney to win as they just seem like such a great club, nice bunch of players, and supporters who don't have their heads up their arses, you don't begrudge them a Premiership. Other Clubs I hate it when they win, mostly because they're arrogant and their supporters are insufferable dickheads.

Well done Swans!!

Not sure if serious...

I've seen pictures of players wearing them after Grand Final wins from before 2007.

Regardless, when used in 2007, they were intended to be for the players.
That was probably from when the medals were handed out by a former player/legend as it should still be done today.
