Just played the no.1 guy on PSN - McLoveDog (or something close to that).

Lost by 11 points in the dying minutes of the game, he can definitely be beaten. He played as Collingwood fwiw.

Haven't lost since PSN came back up (don't think I've ever lost yet actually but can't remember my first couple of games) so wouldn't mind a game against him. Should probably give you a game too HBK, will add you soon.

Just had a 2 vs 1 and had my first online draw with them. One of them was pretty damn good and to their credit they didn't block my set shots. They were Freo - I won the hitouts 17 to 6 with Hale/Renouf :)

Just finished the Nabbed It achievement. Extreme injuries is ridiculous. Nearly half of my list got injured.

Blair
L. Brown
Dawes
Swan
Maxwell
Sidebottom
McCarthy
Didak
Thomas
Pendlebury
Davis
Cloke
Dick
Ceglar
Rounds
Buckley
Beams
Macaffer

In the final I had five players get seriously injured. Ben Johnson replaced Leon Davis and was running around after breaking his leg earlier in the game.

Hey my Psn tag is cluTch-II-FoxX add me i have lost only one game only i would actually like a challenge and dont quit when i start winning i hate that ;)
would like to vs some from big ant studios ;)

I have an attribute question.

When looking at a players attributes in season mode, I find 3 that don't appear in create a player. Jump, pick up ball and bump. What affects these and is it possible to change them? For my complete custom team, jump and pick up ball is always 50 for every player and bump varies a little bit. What's the deal with these stats and why are they not editable in create a player?

do we have a finalised list of patch changes yet?

Yeah, well basically, but it's a few pages back in this thread now. As far as I can remember, the important ones are as follows;

- Quitters to be matched with other quitters online.
- Players to be matched online by XP (as well as other factors).
- Online to match people by number of players per console. So no more 2 on 1 or 3 on 1.
- Bump/Jostle to be added in the marking contest so that;

Right Stick = Bump/Jostle
L2/LT + Right Stick or Triangle/'Y' = Spoil
Triangle/'Y' = Mark

- Fixing freeze issues in season mode.
- A few game play balance adjustments that Ross is keeping under wraps so people cannot try to take advantage of them online.
- Making 'Legend' difficulty harder (up to the same difficulty as the online AI I believe?)
- Adding a random time limit and 'minimum score' to online matches to try to counter quitters. So if your opponent quits an online game after a random period of time or a certain score is reached, you will get a win instead of a no contest.

Probably a few others but they are the main ones.

Any word when the patch will be released on Xbox Live Ross? Or still in testing?

Big Ant Studios sent the patch off to Microsoft about a week ago now. It's out of Ross' hands and it depends on how long MS' testing lasts for. Ross has said he'll give us word as soon as he hears anything, but if I had to guess, I'd say it'll be out for the 360 sometime in the next 1-2 weeks (purely a guess though).

The patch has been delayed for the PS3 because of the PS network going down. Big Ant couldn't test it until now and I don't think it's been sent off to Sony quite yet (Ross?). Will be a couple of weeks after the 360 gets it I should think.

Just had a couple of really good games with HBK. In the first, it was a real struggle early before HBK started to kick away late in the second quarter or early in the third (?). Then, a terrible umpiring decision :)p) seemingly turned the tide. Astbury marked for HBK's Tigers on a half forward flank, 40 meters out, and I lay a quick tackle on him because I thought he was going to play on. Astbury gets up only for my AI teammate to tackle him again resulting in a free to me for holding the ball instead of a 50m penalty for HBK which it should have been. I carried on with the momentum to win by 3-4 goals.

The second game, he got the jump on me early but his poor kicking kept me in the game. I then got on top after half time and built up a fairly comfortable 5-6 goal lead. HBK came back strong in the last quarter, but I ended up winning by a couple of goals. He had 16 scoring shots for 5.11, 4 more shots than me.

Really competitive games, will have to have another soon :thumbsu:

None of those are as important as Jack Darling being named correctly.

Stupid umpires. At least it's the week AFTER umpire appreciation week so I can bag the shit out of them again.

Definitely feel that match was mine had I been able to even just go back and take my shot for goal, no idea why it was holding the ball.:(

My kicking in that second game was woeful, and it wasn't even as if it was all from general play. I missed some that I should've got from general play, but even they could be considered pressure situations. My set shot taking was beyond deplorable though. One thing I'm finding tough is getting Jack Riewoldt's shot taking right, sometimes he'll pull it far left and others not so much, this leads me to think I need to over compensate and then he doesn't pull the shot at all!

I had a terrible kicking game the other day against Carn_Tigez as well (one quarter I had 2.6, think I ended up with 11-13-ish behinds for the match).

Some say that the set shot taking is easy and while I agree it's easy enough to figure it out, it can still provide a huge challenge when you're a little tense in an online game.

Look forward to more matches with you though Illi.:thumbsu:

I was definitely one of those who suggested that set shots might become a bit too easy after a while, but I'm finding them a little more difficult than usual lately. Seem to be having the same problem your having with Jack, with Buddy. Only with Buddy, it's a case of "Will he swing it far right, or will he swing it almost 90 bloody degrees right!?" :p

Has Ross said anything about different players having different kicking arcs or players having varying kicking arcs even when kicking at the same strength each time? I imagine it's probably just a mental thing with playing online like you said.

I don't think there's anything about the variations from the same strength. Definitely notice different arcs based on the stats though.

I'm not sure if I've got this right or not, but for me, what I'm seeing is MORE of an arc from a higher accuracy goal kicker than the lower accuracy. Might just be me and again with Jack, but his rating for goal kicking is quite high and he just seems to bend it back more than others with the lower ratings.

I've sort of noticed this a bit more since playing with my GWS side.

Could be completely off with that, but I might do some testing in exhibition matches with a couple of created players. One with 99 for set shot goal kicking and one with 30 - no wind. See how far each arcs it at the absolute full strength shot.

What's that in your Avatar Ross?

Sock tech! (and major bandages/strapping tech too...)

I saw that you got your name in the Blue & A video with Gibbsy this week Ross. ;)

Thanks for the heads up - just saw it - I'll certainly improve his stats in the game next time :)

do we have a finalised list of patch changes yet?

I'll release a more in depth list as soon as it goes live, if I was to do it before that and something got cut by MS/Sony then I might cop it on here :p

Message to Ross, had a long play of the wii game last night and while it has more features than your game, the difference is chalk and cheese, don't want to bag ww but ps3 version feels like a real game of footy after playing that, I would encourage anyone bagging this game to play wii version then play this one, it brought a smile to my face and the next version with more features will blow me away. One good thing in wii version is an evade button that works well, any chance of this for next version? Again not bagging ww given the power they had to work with

It should be easy to stop quitters, just make it that if you quit the game you lose. pretty easy.

I know some people may have to leave the game legitimately but really how often is that going to happen? its 5 min qtrs FFS. Also connection issues but really whats worse, losing connection and getting a loss 1/35 times or have a guy rage quit on you 10 games in a row????

Agreed, I'm happy to take the loss even 1 in the 10 times I might legitimately quit/lag/dc.

I think the way it is going to be with the over x points or y minutes (with x and y being random) will still work though, rarely people quit in the first minute or two.

Damn... didn't think anyone was ever going to bring that up....
What about gsp-tracker-tech, headgear-tech and boot-tech? Are you flogs even doing anything over there?

;)
