Bullshit. They discussed it. They'd be even dumber than they already look if they didn't. They're just not ready to comment publicly on it. As another poster pointed out, they'll make an announcement whenever it will get the least amount of media attention. Brownlow Monday would be my guess.

Just listening to Monday night's Footy Classified on catchup. Caro saying,

"a big decision will be coming in the next few days from the AFL on whether the Swans will be allowed to trade in full in this trade period...or certainly with more freedom than last year."

8 seconds of airtime can create a lot of hope.

Good ole Carro.......

Caro just said that over the next week the AFL are going to give us some good news. She said that the amount of the average wage is going to be raised because the average wage is ever increasing (I assume that is the AFLs terminology).

I still don't think this is good enough. Remove it altogether and admit your wrong.

So what is the average wage for a top 22 player at thr Swans then I wonder. Will that be the standard?

There was a feature article in the Sunday Times (Perth) about Gillon McLachlan, last weekend. His mother described how, as a teenager, he put his younger brother in a cattle press and left him there for eight hours. When his mother remonstrated with him, he threatened to do the same to her. As she said, Gillon always gets what he wants.
Hope the Swans admin. have done the "Dealing with Psychopaths" course.

Eh. I don't really see much conflict there. Doesn't affect his sons in the slightest. Jason Ball being a past player for us is to me as much or more a conflict.

Plenty of things to be pissed at the AFL about without making mountains out of molehills.
It affects the relative strength of the club his sons play for in the competition. Really poor governance.
Chris Langford must have some business connections which are really useful to the other guys on the Commission.

I heard a similar rumour earlier in the week so hopefully there is some substance to it. It certainly strengthens the case when we use the example of needing to offer Leunberger a reasonable deal in order for Brisbane to get fair compensation.

In reality we should have any trade restrictions, but at least $500k a year would allow us to target average players which has historically been our sweet spot. It's highly unlikely the club would have been chasing players above that mark anyway.

Can't read it without membership, what's gist please?
Patrick Smith says Swans likely to be allowed to trade up to $500k, Jetta going to West Coast, and Goodes or Richards likely to play on.
