Footy judgement was right for a change Snorkle.Southports 4 young replacements were tremendous.Young legs.
Matt Payne is the Chris Judd of this comp.Sensational yesterday.

Payne was freakish, so many clearances.....so the 'vulture train' has derailed! Big game today. The Tigers for mine, they will get first use and are genuine scrappers. Looking forward to watching!!!

Quite right Chickka, coach Lake might just learn from this game, that being old heads with slow legs sometimes dont have the killer instinct to win the footy espescially when they are not at 100%. The Sharks younger brigade stood tall against a very good list, as you pointed out earlier, by running the Vultures off their legs, Payne and Petterson had the ball on a string and set up the many forward foray's time and time again. I hope for Morningside's sake that coach Blair learnt something from the performance of the Vultures in this game, if you cant chase then you dont end up with the footy, young legs with passion will give you the edge if given the opportunity, just like the sharks young guns showed yesterday.

Down to three very deserving sides, will the premiership go the way of the final ladder standings, I wonder?
I think the Sharks will be circling next week looking for a big prey to feast on and judged on yesterdays performance this game will be a great prelude to the G/F the following week against the Tigers, who will IMHO benefit greatly from the extra week off.

I missed yesterdays game! I heard it was a thriller, a mate said the crowd were going beserk when Labrador were on the way back. What is the run down?

On crowds, the one at Southport on saturday was disgraceful. Ive seen bigger, more vocal crowds at home and away games this year.

Whos the Grogan tip. Mine are Gough (always polls well and had a great year), Wise (always in the papers and on the net) and maybe Clark/Featherstone the Labrador smokies. Who is your tip?

Crowd was amazing, Morningside looked shattered will have to turn it around quickly but I daresay the sharks being their opponent will focus them.

Some advice to the Southport players trash talking the Tigers players through the third quarter, the karma bus arrives when you least expect it.

Grogan:will be 1/ Wise , 2/ Pfieffer but I don't believe that reflects the season.

I think the crowd could have been heard over the border it was that loud. And good on them. They had marquets all around the ground.
Any win from 23 pts down at 3/4 time is a good one,but in a qualifing final is a extra bonus.Morningside had 1 more scoring shot for the day and not for the 1st time it has cost them a win.

Groagn a hard one.Cam Illett will poll high but ineligable, can Wise hold on after polling well 1st half of year.Gough always there abouts and cannot rule out Clarke,Featherstone ( value at $21 ) and Carse.Phieffer very consistent.Rogers and Bonney from siders.

Won't sit on the fence and I will tip Clarke from Pfieffer.Illett will poll the highest

Internet reports says Sharks players sprayed Vulture players whilst walking off after sat's game also.

What an organisational machine the AFLQ is, the State Captain wins the grogan and the NT takes off the other two major awards, what great planning, they could not have hoped for a better result.

Hope none of you guys put money on Clarke,he must have upset someone: 1 vote.( and those umpires must have got in trouble for letting that happen, 1st game).

Are all the votes available to download?

The whole Queensland team of the year is a joke.

The bloke named captain played 7 games and half those named were either injured or in the VFL for big parts of the year.

Fevola,no comment

Now now Chikka lets wait until we have the facts.

Isn't he innocent until proven guilty and he may have simply been taking a leak in the bushes when their was no public facility. We have all done that at sometime !

Hard to see he will be playing in the AFL again, despite what the facts are !!

Tough hard fought win by the Panthers today.Matt Payne and Tom Daniel best for the Sharks.Recruiters must have a eye on young Daniels. He will be a gun

Panthers 2's 17 points down with 2 mins to play and win by 1 point.

Sharks will be seething with 2 x 3rd place finishes in a row, especially with the recruiting they did this season. All players and coaches will really be looking over there shoulder down there.

Should be a cracker of a GF. Tigers fresh. Panthers battle-hardened. Will Lillico play, that is the big question?

The finish to the 2's game yesterday was quite amazing.....you can never relax in a final!!

Tips for Grand final day (I have commited early in week !)

Ressies - Southport
1s -Siders
Joe Grant Medal - Jacob Gough

Interested in opinions of Chikka and Oddball

Oddball's opinion is that it is disappointing that the Western Magpies have no choice but to drop down a level next year, although not surprising. Shame is that QAFL doesn't have a 'westies' pathway into the State League. It does however continue to show what a significant 'step-up' in standard it is from Pineapple Cup to State League in both player talent and off-field resources. Oddball wonders if, in the future, any Pineapple cup club will ever have the ability to make the transistion, particularly if the next step is to the 'Northern Conference'.
