Big boost with the ins.

Wood will offer us far more than Paine even if it just from a structural point of view by allowing Dawes to stay permanent forward. Can't wait to watch him tomorrow night. He is in for a big night and he must be licking his lips.

Wellingham is a given. Midfield specialist in close and can break lines or through congestion. Has a habit of kicking big time roving packs goals too. Adds another dimension to the on ball unit.

Maxwell, the captain returns and steadies up the back line in the absence of Tarrant. Won't play the same role as Taz i.e. tall but his leadership and his ability to place himself in all the right spots will be invaluable for the likes of Keeffe, Reid and even the rest of our mediums/smalls in defence.

I am however disappointed as to how Sinclair has retained his spot. What the club sees in him is beyond me. Rounds is far more advanced and much better, period.

Blah.Sinclair.Blah.

Well he definitely must be Bucks favourite because I got no clue how his still in. Guess Bucks loves watching a guy run around like a headless chook and can't kick for crap.

If Yarran starts lighting us up from half back who do we have to play a shutdown role? I think that is why Sinclair is still in the team. If he doesn't play it and starts sub, I'd almost be tempted to put Toovey up there on him.

Don't mind that Sinclairs in, I mean who else would we have instead of him and plus he'll be substitute anyways. But I'd prefer to see Ugle in instead of Sinclair, would be sweet to see Ugle come in late in the game and allow our forward/midfielders spend more time in the midfield towards the end of the game.

If Sinclair actually contributes somehow to a Collingwood win, there'll be a lot of love on here for him.

No doubt there will be.

There will be sheer delight and relief that he can actually do something.

As it stands right now, he has shown absolutely nothing as to why and how he is currently a best 22 starter. If there wasn't some club insider fascination with him, he would have most likely been delisted last season.

His "tools" as a footballer, are pathetic.

Obviously all eyes are on how Sinclair performs this week, I think he could well put in a good one.

With Wood in the team, Dawes will always be up forward creating a contest. Obviously Cloke and Dawes will draw a third man up more than Paine at this stage. So there should be plenty of marking contests for Sinclair to be around, and more space to be a small option himself.

His attack on the ball is there, he often is in the right place but so far has not moved in the right direction or made the right decision or struggled with execution (sometimes a combination of these which stick with you). Footy is played at a frenetic pace and both teams flock into the 50s.

Give him some more time and I think and hope it will start coming together.

Love that Maxy and Wellingham are back, and glad Wood gets a chance in a big game.

This hate for Sinclair is ****ing ridiculous.

It's borderline more than what Toovey received 2007-09.

Agreed.

I didn't think he'd hold his spot, but not because he was any type of catastrophe. Just a 50/50 drop for a senior, like the rest of the kids.

I haven't noticed terrible efficiency. Are there some stats on this? He has pace, that's for sure, and that's at a premium right now. But you can't draw a form line with such ltd game time.

Ugle I think could be a great forward defensive option so long as he strings them together. But both those guys are pretty quick.

Agreed. Obviously there are quite a few on here that are quick to judge...but like you said, that's nothing new.

He isn't a star, but if he keeps getting opportunities close to goal, then I'm happy. He will start converting eventually.

Sinclair going at 60% efficiency so far this season, 55% of his possessions are contested.

He also averages 2.5 tackles, and 4.5 inside 50s per game.

Seedsman - 53% efficiency, 27% contested. 1 tackle, 1.5 inside 50s per game. (Yes I know those last two stats are skewed due to being the sub).

(Swan's efficiency is 63% at the moment by the way, Ball is 54%...)

Really glad they have persisted with Sinclair. The kid has played five games at AFL level and found quite a bit of the ball last week, just didnt use it well.

If he gets his disposal numbers up, and hurts a little on the scoreboard, he'll be fine. I believe he is in the team for forward pressure more than anything. Any more than that is a bonus.

Give the guy a chance. Onya Bucks! :thumbsu:

Happy with the changes. Surprised about Sinclair but nonetheless he is in the team and Bucks obviously has enough confidence in him.

Everyone bagged Toovs early in his career, and look where he's at now. Back him and Bucks in.

Pies to get up in a close one by 2 goals.

IN BUCKS WE TRUST. GO PIES.

Nice work.

It's really too early to call anything here, but good to see that Sinclair's performance was nowhere near as bad as was being suggested.

How we can make any claims about a player after 6 games or so is silly. But words are like a virus, they're catchy.

We'd all be better placed making judgements after 20-30 games. I tend to think when players offer something unique like pace, height, big kicking, we should give it a bit of time because the pay off is huge if it all comes together.

Watson? You mean Shane Watson who last played with us around 2001.
I think he is a little old for the modern game

Shane Watson had a distintive head with ears sitting out like teacup handles. He had one good season off half back and was very ordinary before and after that year. For which current player is he being mistaken?

My old man still refers to Watson as Big Ears. He was a symbol in our house of the complete ineptitude of the Pies during those dark abominable years in the naughties. Probably unfairly. There were a few worse than Watson running around in those years.

Pretty unlikely tbh. His skills are terrible and can't see them improving from last week considering some people on here said he would play better against a weaker team. Pressure will be way better from the Blues this week and he'll be found out once again.
