Re: Team v Blues

Hard luck Taylor, thought he would have been good against their small forward line. You mention Blake having his last chance, is this a last chance for Corey to get to somewhere near full fitness for September?

Re: Team v Blues

Those emergencies are short, wonder if one of the other midfielders is won't play (possibly with flu too).

Selwood and Bartel are the other ones with flu according to what Bomber said.

Wish I had an iphone this week.

Surprised we'd keep Menzel over Hunt, but I guess it is forward structure related for Hawkins rucking.

Re: Team v Blues

Hunt should have been reatined for his pace against the Blues, as good as Menzel was.[/quote]

Was hoping (like a few on this board) they might experiment with keeing Hunt in and play a smaller defence with Scarlo taking the second tall. Obviously not one of the MC's plans.

How do I get on that thing btw?

Re: Team v Blues

Disappointing to see T Hunt and Laidler out.

Absolutely, I think it's a mistake to drop leg speed against Carlton - I remember what Armfield did to us last time running off half back - and Taylor Hunt is our version of him.

We can mitigate the drop off in leg speed though by actually playing with determination against them (unlike last time).

My early call, 30 hitouts, 14 marks, 28 touches and 6 goals, to go with his 9 tackles!

Don't say that! Then I'll have to start getting worried for Pods' spot again.

Sadly I'm tipping Warnock will towel him. He's a giant who could be another Sandilands in a year or two and is just hitting his straps. I'm also concerned about our rucks without Otto and the pace of our back half against a very quick Blues forward half.

Yep, this game will be a challenge....Warnock has been rucking well but don't underestimate Blake at the taps. I don't think Warnock will be a great threat around the ground in the same way Sandilands is.

Be interesting to see if we go head to head with Carlton's midfield. Our backline should counter any threat from Carlton's talls, and you would severly doubt that we would subject ourselves to the flee brigade attack again.
