i just havent seen enough of sheringham to know much about him. was the same with macarthy too until 2 weeks ago, but have liked his tackling pressure so think in the absence of denzel, motlop and chriso he has a spot, but i guess he is competing with the likes of burbury and the host of small mids we have who often play up forward when we bring them in. so it will be interesting next week if macca makes way for hunt or what they do there.

i am really hoping we get to see alot of the kids this year. would love to see kolo, jansen, lang, kersten, thurlow etc. all get 5 or more games.

Sheringham is more of a HBF and inside mid than a forward, though he can play forward as well. If he comes in today, I suspect his primary role will be in defence, given the absence of both Hunt and Enright. Unless it's someone else who's pretty doubtful, who knows.

thanks, being in WA we dont get televised VFL games either. occassionaly i think one makes it onto the abc iview thingy and i try to catch those, but the commentary always seems focused on the other teams and not so much on the AFL listed players etc. so i dont learn alot about the kittens.

A key area we've been poor in against the Pies in the last three matches has been forward entries –– bombing it long and allowing grass tenders like Maxwell time to come off their man and spoil, which in turn allows Lomombo and co to run it out quickly and hurt us on the rebound. With an absence of quality small defenders, we can't afford to let this happen. Have to lower the eyes going forward and have Murdoch and McCarthy and Varcoe applying manic forward pressure.
In addition, last year Hawkins was injured + jPod couldn't goal :(
Who will play on Labomba? (Autocorrect, CBF changing)
Hope Jimmy, SJ, Kelly have sizzling games + can't love enough of the Captain Selwood's goals!

Well said.

I like reading BigFooty, but I rarely contribute to this forum for exactly this reason. I'm sure others are the same. Every time certain posters have a view on an issue, a wall of text appears that simply repeats the same point over and over... and over and over again.

It just becomes boring and not enjoyable at all. I suppose it is no surprise that the best posters are those that show a little restraint.

As for the game, go Cats. I'd love to see Tomahawk put on a show.
Don't allow others to spoil your enjoyment! Just read the posters you like + you soon get used to scrolling to the next post if you see posters you don't like. Or else come + have some fun in Chit Chat III :)

An interesting stat from last night, Freo won the hitouts 47 -26 yet lost the clearances 41-36.
Given that Sandilands is the best ruckman in the land what does this say about the value of the hitout stat.
If their not to advantage they mean nothing.

Freo had a shocking midfield setup last night so that would explain it.

Wouldn't read too much into it

In NSW we get VFL from Victoria, Snaffle + Waffle on ABC early hours of the morning. If I can't sleep I watch them. But if really keen could be recorded :)

good. i hate excuses. unless they are to get me out of work...

besides, if we lose i already have my dropping simpson tirade ready to go. :D
I'll screech along, if you need company :D

According to a lady who I know who is close to the Bews family... Jed was initially penciled in to play tonight... then it was switched and he was played last night

I said so that means Enright is playing and she said no he's out and someone else is playing (Sheringham)
She said Jed rolled his ankle last night, she's not sure how bad it is as she spoke to his sister this morning.... But in her words he has glass ankles at the best of times
