Hill is an "almost" player. Doesn't quite put enough pressure on, doesn't quite kick enough goals, doesn't quite find the ball enough. However if Stengle chooses Geelong (which seems the more likely option) he'd fill that role.

I'm wondering if we're having a word to Sam Wicks.

I'm curious as to what would be required to get him though. Giants apparently don't want to lose him but they practically gave finlayson away on compassionate grounds so lets see if we can get him on the cheap. He's not someone I'd be throwing draft capital at.

Wicks is more the Snelling/Dev Smith role rather than the Tippa role. I think we need another Tippa, poor or not

The guy loves a late goal, taking him to a 1-goal, 3 possession, 1-2 tackle type of game.

Of his 14 goals this year, five were in the first quarter.

Three of those were first goal for his side.

They'll want a first for him for sure, but realistically they won't get that. I'd think a second-rounder gets it done (somewhere between 22-29) and perhaps something else later (maybe a fourth or fifth round). Hill is interesting, I think he's never really found his feet when he has played. Also, he's still quite young too. Perhaps a change of scenery, new club and different system will fully unlock his talents as he could be anything. If we do pick him up, I just hope someone gets into his ear early and gets him to knuckle down. He doesn't need to come in and kick four a week, heck even three a week but if he can lay tackles/cause some forward half pressure and kick 1-2 a week then that's all he needs to do. He has the bag of tricks, he just needs to fully harness them.

I'd take the punt if it meant, as I said above giving up a second rounder + something else. At the expense of a first rounder though, don't think I'd do it given the first 15 picks in this draft in particular look pretty solid.

I’d love stengle but his off field stuff is an issue. You’d wanna make sure the background work is done if he’s coming into a young group.
