How? Rutten got a close enough look at him last year, and was most likely involved in the decision to delist him.
I'm thinking of his comments recently about reluctance to trade and willingness to develop players.

Hibberd was brought in on the back of a strong season with Williamstown as an inside mid and then never got a run in the role. I can understand the want to develop his abilities on a wing, but most of us here it seems are still looking for a big inside body. That said, we seem to be passing on that type of player, having passed on Dunstan as a free hit. Maybe he was a Worsfold in, but was always going to be a Rutten out.

Do we have the “bide your time” mantra?

Parish could have been this good if given extended opportunity. Etc.

Instead of playing midfielders in midfield from day 1, we piss fart around playing wide and on the flanks.

I dunno, good for thought

Well, we could reasonably suggest that if nog for the injuries to Caldwell and Shiel, that we probably would have piss-farted around with Parish's career again, so maybe right.

Is it Scorch on Blitz who has been reliable ITK in the past? ...has mentioned hearing Noah Anderson's name in context with us.

Nobody really knows with Perkins and Cox as they are so young but I reckon Perkins especially is likely to become a quality midfielder. He's already got a strong body for his age and the ability to stand up in tackles and get off clean disposals. Plus by all accounts his endurance is actually pretty good which is often something that holds up players from converting from playing on the flanks to the midfield.

I agree that Cox is less likely to be an inside clearance bull - his frame just doesn't suggest he'll become that type until he undergoes a massive transformation in years to come.

Also whilst we may not have lots of emerging midfield depth we also don't have pending retirements from our existing midfield which is a key factor.
Perkins looks like he has the attributes to *maybe* develop into a Bont type mid. tall/strong etc when he fills out

Not really

hilarious if true ... maxed out your cap with a team that can't win a flag. Well done Carlton.

Every time he has even an average game his teammates will be giving him daggers.

I think he’s drunk

What happens next year when Walsh is out of contract and deserves $950k? McGoverns dodgy contract must be about to end?? Anyway sides with sustained success like the tiges should have salary cap issues, not a side that hasn’t played finals for ten years.

I think that's when they start looking for a new coach, probs Clarko.

Trade week too quiet without AD.
I tip the AFL are saving him for a grand entrance on the final day prime time finale.

The second last day there will be a leaked "rumour" -"Essendon bold last minute bid for Ben King"

Has anyone actually watched Hill play?
The guy loves a late goal, taking him to a 1-goal, 3 possession, 1-2 tackle type of game.

Im firmly in the boat of saying we need at least 2 more small forwards on the list, so I’m happy to try anyone that fits the criteria…but I won’t be getting overly excited over Hill

Will be on the radar you'd think

Not sure he's any good, his speed at Marvel will be good

Is F2 too much? I'd hope we don't pay anything more and I'd want some points back for the daveys later in that draft

Under contract makes it hard, but GWS need to come to that party more than we do with this situation

F2 for Hill and F4 my final offer

And I'd want F2 for Hill and pick 53

Are you saying "That boy ain't right"?

He made the AA squad in 2019, so not sure about the claims against his consistency.

His injury devalues him yes but I'd assume that would be baked into the asking price. I'm not saying I'd do it, I'd rather us draft with 11. But at the same time, I'd at least want to hear the offer.

Don't see him playing as a pressure forward or a midfielder. He's a defender/distributer and likely will always be.

Plus I frankly don't understand the logic behind not wanting to get best 22 players because it will push one of our existing best 22 players out. Isn't how that teams get better - putting more pressure on the best 22 for spots? You want to be playing seniors? You need to push yourself.
I agree with what you're saying above! But also, I just think given over the past ten years, all we've done is throw about our best 22 in terms of what it looks like every offseason that there comes a point where if it's not working that you should really just look within too and show consistency with the talent we have - because we have talent! Snelling is a great example, finishing third in the BnF and finally he's finding some consistency in his game all because he's been backed in. I agree with trying to improve your team by bringing in the best players at any opportunity but a player like Sicily isn't one I think, would change things for us drastically in a sense that we should go out of our way to pay whatever we need too. He'd be nice to have but not one I think is high on the priority list.
