No issue with the Waterman pick even if hes delisted end of this year. He was picked up for nothing and atkeast gave us some good service and depth

He was picked up after the M.Wallis era of avg 1.5 goals a game as a deep forward. We were struggling to hit the scoreboard and whenever he played he seemed good for a goal or two

That type of player disappeared though as did M.Wallis

Still find it hard to see why Mitch Wallis isnt at another club as a midfielder at 186cm and 86kg. Bloke use to get 40 disp in u18s

Be interesting how Richmond get both deals done
Likely f1 and 19 for hopper and 12 and something for taranto
Pretty straightforward. Between the two they're probably worth 3 top 20 picks, so 12, 19 and F1 for the pair, with maybe Soldo tacked on for pick 30 or so.

I think the 12, 19 and F1 is pretty close to the mark for the 2
I dont reckon from previous trade history that it is enough. Richmond aren't going backwards with Taranto and Hopper coming in, so you are looking at 12, 19 and more than likely another mid/late pick in the teens.
Ones a former pick 2, B&F winner and perennial top 5 in B&F. The others a former pick 7, regular top 5 B&F, All Aus squad in 2021.
Richmond are offering them both 7 years (Hoppers still contracted) at big coin, so GWS are well in their rights to demand a high 1st rounder and another 2 first rounders as a starting point.

Yeh you might be right

I suppose i was looking at it as pick 12, 19 and Future pick 12 when in fact that pick is much more likely to be 16-20 Youd expect tigers to finish atleast top 4 and probably higher.

Should trade 22 to Richmond to help them pay for hopper and tim.

No ****ing way is Davey getting to 22 with gws having 19 and 21, if mccartney has either of those picks live on draft night he'll call Davey. (and it's not just to spite Dodoro who he loathes but they're losing Bobby Hill as well more than likely)

I’m sure I recall some drafts being branded weak.
In 2019 Port finished mid-table. They had to trade their F1 and a second rounder to get ~18. Teams did not want to trade into 2020.

Teams didn’t want to trade into this year either.
Oh I absolutely agree. Brand's developing nicely. I can understand their perspective though, we have a lot of young talent in defence which is why it's even more frustrating to me that they didn't try McBride forward at all this year after he showed a bit up there last year.

That's fair. I would say Brand dropped off the last couple of games though unfortunately, but he should get another year.
I find it really weird after what McBride showed last year up forward and playing him second ruck this year he wasn’t given a go this year.

They'd add their F1 to it you'd think.
I don’t think that’s enough.
Anyone know what the knock is on Stockers attitude?
Hopefully Stanton does.

Yeah, bit of a myth that every draft is branded a super draft. I will say that pick 1 is over-hyped every year.

Would you entertain the idea of trying to get into the 2023 first round in lieu of getting in before a Davey Jnr bid this year?
If next years draft is so good, I’d see if we could trade our F1 for an extra pick at the very pointy end of this draft. I don’t think we’ll be as bad next year FWIW. Maybe GWS would take our F1 for 3? It’s a risk for them, but they’ll have so many first rounders this year, maybe they do it.

The thing about Stocker is he's behind Cripps, Walsh, Hewitt and Kennedy as an inside mid. Competing with Dow and Setterfield. We have a spot for him if he's looking
He is also behind his endurance levels required to play consistent midfield minutes at AFL level apparently
