Freo are going to take a huge risk paying Jackson the world. He needs to be a number 1 ruck but they already have darcy. Darcy can’t play 2nd ruck, which will affect his form and desire to be at the club. With the list build on a great trajectory, it’s a massive gamble.

I want Deven Robertson even more after last night.

Is there a specific reason why people are trying to push parish out?

Seems to have come from nowhere?

Haven’t had a good inside mid since Jobe left, we find one and don’t want him? Seems bizzare

Essendon culture.

Pushed a champion like Salmon out.

Almost did the same to Scott Lucas.

No other club does it as their supporter base is more rank and file.

My take is too many Essendon people are spoon fed their whole lives.

Please explain to the people.
For every clearance he does have he will get caught in a tackle and brought to ground more times. He has ability to win clearance if he can hit the ball in clear space (on the move) but he does not have to power to win a big contested clearance so his game relies on the ruck being able to hit him / him reading the ruck and being clear of the congestion or having someone to block for him. He does not have both aspects of a great clearance player. He is good in one aspect but poor in another. He is not like Neale who will win clearances both ways , either on the move or the ability to power through a tackle. Of course people do tackle Neale but he has an ability to break through tackles a percentage of the time where Parish does not.

Shiel has a similar issue but he has a bit more speed off the mark and a fraction more power than Parish but is still not up there with the likes of Neale.

Agree. Just because they can, doesn't mean they should.
From the outside it seems logical that he chooses West Coast, and if Darcy were the better ruck he might have.

Looking at what hypothetical trade is being offered up for Taranto & Hopper, most seem to think 12 & 19 + a future first would get it done. That is akin to two top 5 selections for a contracted inside mid and an out of contract All Australian Squad member. Seems under considering the offer of 7 years at supposedly $700,000.

As an aside, does Wardlaw have that kind of power through the legs and torso? I think Hobbs will.

Don’t think that’s enough to get both

Yes. He is just a fraction bigger than Hobbs.

Wardlaw is basically power

He has far more power than Hobbs

The constant injuries could be the worry and affect power. Watch some highlights of him, hes explosive, combative and powerful

Apparently soldo being potentially thrown in aswell. They also have pick 30 if they are desperate. I’m sure they will get it done, getting 2 legit guns in there’s no way they will bail over an extra pick, wouldn’t offer them 7 year deals otherwise. Makes me sick
And here we creaming our pants over meeting with a delisted Liam stocker.

Trades are part and parcel of the industry, in fact I believe we should be more proactive.

The Salmon trade was a huge win for us, we netted Wellman and Barnard. It was also a win for Salmon.

I wasn't aware that Lucas was potential on the outer, in any case its a moot point.

I agree, would be good. Great size and height for our midfield
Butchered it last night though, so adding another bad kick to our already bad kicking midfield bar Merrett isnt exactly screaming confidence. But hey, get him in!

He is not a great inside mid.

hes 25 years old and got AA literally the first year he played mid.

he is absolutely a great inside mid.

Read above. If you can not work it out.
