Difference is whitfield would get a quality pick without including 12 and Whitfield can play... Bowes is avg for now

I do like the premise though

Mayhe change whitfield with Nic Haynes... not a player we need but believe hes on pretty good coing

May allow them to keep Hopper for this year and see if they can convince him to stay with a better deal
What about we help them out taking Haynes salary so than can keep Hopper only for us to take him as a free agent next year 👌👌

On a similar track but if Geelong are desperate for Jhye Clark then they might be pretty keen to trade up to 4 as well from 7.

Most likely would be done on draft night and if our main targets are already gone by then
If they dont have to use it for Henry/Bruhn then it will definitly be a good move

Just not sure theyll be able to look after us with something else on top that equates to moving from 7 to 4

I think suns defintily take Clark at 5, so 7 wont get him anyway imo

Yeah most likely if they keep 7 then most likely 18 and F1 are gone so probably makes any trade up difficult for them

Bowes can definitely play. He ain’t Whitfield but he’s a good player. The shoulder reco ruined his year.

Were yet to see Bowes perform at a level above average anytime in the AFL

He could become something, obviousily many saw talent in juniors but with lack of opportunity in the next 2 years id say he will struggle

I dunno averaging 21 touches a game in 2021 is nothing to be sneezed at. As I said can play, is a midfielder has been played at half back. Was meant to play mid full time this year trained there all preseason.

maybe the members can split the 3m cap space?

Shaping up to be a fizzer of a trade period For us

How long until Bowes realises that the cats were only ever after the pick and not him?
When he's stuck in the vfl side and tanner and clark are both playing seniors
John Ralph mentioned that clubs are expecting the bid on Davey to be after pick 22.

Think it's a good discussion but the 22 to 29 move might be an issue for us if we expect the bid to come in between those picks
Did Ralphy ask McCartney the guy who hates Dodo's guts and has picks 12, 15 and 19?

Fair enough he seemed to put up some decent numbers in the last 8 weeks in the VFL

I just dont think he will be much, time will tell

My understanding of that is he's taken significant unders to go to Geelong.

~ 2.7 mill over 6 years is about AFL avg which is what he is as a player

Youd probably want more than that if 2 years are at the suns who pay well above market rate

Well that's a bonus, no footy news up there, might not even find out we suck
Oh, the NRL nuffies know we suck alright, seems I'm reminded every ****ing day lately about how much of a laughing stock we are.

That says a lot coming from people who have no interest in AFL whatsoever, yet they know how incompetent we are.

The AFL nuffies leave me alone now, realise that I'm just low hanging fruit and feel sympathetic towards me.

Id probably do

Blues 10, F1, F2 for 4 and F3*

* Not sure if Blues would be allowed to trade F2 aswell as F1 even if they got F3 back

Blues play finals but going to be some solid sides next year

Cats, Dees, Tigers (Hopper and Taranto), Brisbane (Ashcroft, Dunkley), Port (JHF, W.Rioli), Swans, Pies

My issue with the Haynes and Whitfield salary dumps are that Scott said he wasn't interested in bringing in mature players to fill holes.

Whitfield and Haynes seem to fit that description.

Does he know that our FB was Laverde, CHB was Kelly and CHF was Guelfi for a lot of this year? 😬

I mean no disrespect but there is zero chance the Bulldogs let him walk for nil return. It simply won't happen.

The times that has happened is minuscule and competent clubs just do not let it happen.

I totally agree. Just saying I think it's different to Stringer as Bulldogs would love Dunkley to stay, whereas they didn't want Stringer. I wouldn't be surprised if they raised that possibility with him to stay if they're at an impasse with Brisbane.

In the end I think he'll get traded, but it makes it interesting that Brisbane got rid of their first.

Brisbane are going to be a tough side next year with their ins this trade/draft period.

Think it is massively unfair that a club can win a flag and still have a pick in the singles, the kind of pick that is there to benefit teams that are lower on the ladder.

If the argument is that Gold Coast have every right to do what they want with their picks, and so it can go anywhere, then that's all good... but if they're willing to have that privilege then don't come back and ask for priority picks when your tomfoolery comes back to bite you on the ass down the line.

How is it unfair?

We change the rules every year to bring a competent club back to the back.

If we wanted Bowes we could have offered him game time, but we didn't because our mids are so good.

What makes you think we didn't? There's absolutely nothing that suggests that's the case.
