I hope we are putting plenty of time into Deven Robertson at the moment as he is out of contract in 2023.

The Jack Bowes deal shows we shouldn't wait till mid year to check in with guys we like under contract as well, especially with heavily capped team.

Was thinking the same thing, most likely on the outer this year with Brisbanes new additions. Might come cheap if he plays in the twos all year

What happened to Ronald Fejo? He just seems to have disappeared...

Seems like he dropped off the face of the planet after he got suspended for striking in the VFL last year

Looks like we haven't actually put JD on the inactive list yet, and therefore haven't been approved for any "permission to train" players as of yesterday:

The AFL has informed that there are nine AFL Clubs who have a Rookie list spot or who have an inactive player. These are:

One spot each on list

  • Collingwood
  • Fremantle
  • Geelong Cats
  • Hawthorn
  • Melbourne
  • Richmond
  • Western Bulldogs
Two spots each on list

  • Gold Coast SUNS
  • St Kilda
Today the following players trained at each club:

  • Collingwood - Oscar Steene - West Adelaide
  • Fremantle - Liam Serong - Gippsland Power
  • Fremantle - Samuel Stubbs - Perth Football Club
  • Melbourne - Trent Burgoyne - Port Adelaide Football Club
  • Melbourne - Kye Turner - Old Haileybury / Frankston (VFL)
  • St Kilda - Joshua Eyre - Essendon Football Club
  • St Kilda - Liam Stocker - Carlton Football Club

Max King shoulder reco. Should’ve pushed harder for saints F1. Sack Dodoro

Why didnt we atleast get an F2 from suns?

Were they just sure we wernt accepting melbournes deal?
The article doesn’t specify why the suns didn’t do it. They made the right call in the end anyway.

They really don’t want to be losing points for 2023 either.

The first trade the suns have made the right call with.....and it just happens that were involved (or wouldve been). Typical

Thats true, but tbf they have a truckload of points already and will obtain more in the trade period as is always the case

Im a bit surprised they didnt tbh. Clubs are very happy to give up 2nds to lock away the player they want. I suppose they either were pretty happy with their 2nd option Ginbey, or they thought we were buckleys to accept the dees offer

There’s a few younger players who are coming out of contract we should look at.

One I think we should target is Finn Magginess from the hawks. He’s a good size, 22 and is a defensive sound midfielder. I’d throw William Drew from Port into the same question.

I thought we where keen on Tom Phillips

He is a fascination to me. A couple of the games I watched live I was not super impressed. He looked slow and I was looking for his physical game but outside center bounce it was not really there. I did miss a few of his early NAB games which where good. So after the last Champ game I watched a few replays and you can see his work rate is pretty good and he does link in pretty well. He actually reads the game very well. I think he really should have been picked up as a rookie. He is the exact rookie type. Several question marks but also a few good points.

I feel as though you can get away with being slow, as long as your footy IQ is high, and you have great skills. Didn't happen to see what his disposal was like?

Performed well on 360 earlier in the year, so reckon he'd bring a mature head in and get to work.
Would be my preference as an ssp selection
