Mcstay is not worth anywhere near what someone will offer him. Has played about 5 good games in his career.

I don’t get the hype with Mcstay. He’s developed into a good, solid forward the last 12 months, but has had the luxury of Daniher & Hipwood taking the better defenders.

The only KPP's in their 20's are Pearce (a monty to re-sign for the Dockers), Gardiner and McStay. Other than them you have your usual Hawkins, Walker, Riewoldt etc players signing 1 year extensions until retirement.

So he's the only real long term KPF on the market this year

Next year has Hipwood, Curnow, McKay, Himmelberg and Weideman as FA KPF's
Year after has Mitch Lewis, Larkey and Marshall

So yeah.

Just to reiterate he's a soild player and I'm not against him.

But between Jones, Bryan (freeing Wright), Langford, possibly Stewart and dare I say it, in a world in which Reid, McBride and/or Brand press for selection in defence in the next 12 months which i think is realistic, Laverde there is plenty we can add from the list to increase the high half forward marking power McStay would provide.

He has but he has played his best footy as a forward, remember one game last year he was clunking everything against Box Hill, they had the camera near Sam Mitchell at the huddle and he even noted him as a player worth stopping.

I think McBride should play forward personally
