Secret weapons: Who's your side's most underrated player?

Gabby O'Sullivan
Injury kept O'Sullivan to just six games last season, and when she was unavailable or not at 100 per cent it really showed through the Dockers' midfield. Her speed and power at stoppage is integral to her side, while she also knows how to get forward and kick goals. A fit O'Sullivan is a huge win for Fremantle.
Don't know how you can be "underrated" if your most recent performance level was a bit so-so, even if it was due to injury?

We’ve hardly lost a game in the last 5 seasons when her, Bowers and E Antonio have played.
...any Freo player grouped with Bowers and Antonio has hardly lost a game. If you're just going by the win-loss column, O'Sullivan hasn't made a difference.

Fremantle with Bowers and O’Sullivan (no E. Antonio): 1 win, 4 losses, 1 draw
Fremantle with E. Antonio and O’Sullivan (no Bowers): 5 wins, 10 losses, 1 draw
Fremantle with E. Antonio and Bowers (no O’Sullivan): 3 wins, 0 losses

It’s a fair point, and we’re not the same when team when one of them is out, but when two of those three are out it seems to push us over the edge.

O'Sullivan is a battler. Gutsy and tries hard but is not a very good footballer at AFL level. Has terrible decision making and disposal. If she's our secret weapon for this year, we're in big trouble.

Well, logic's take on your point is "what's Antonio's & Bowers' impact on our W/L to do with O'Sullivan being rated underrated"?

I'm more pissed at Amy Franklin for leaving tbh.
Franklin really burnt my buns.

The rest of them were just folks wanting some reward or something different in the twilight. Fair enough. Even Gemma, for whom I have written more poetry than other living person.

But Franklin rankles.

Amy is no amis.
Agree. Gemma I’m kinda ok with, Cuthbo gives me the shits, Franklin frankly ****s me right off.

I think Sarah Verrier is our most underrated player. Tough inthe contest, Intercept marks, doesn't waste a disposal. I'm a big fan. I like Gabs and don't disagree on skills but she provides strength and contest to where ver she plays.

How many rucks is that on the list now?

Don't mind some extra height around the ground if she moves well tho, best and fairest tells me she does
She's more of a utility player at 179cm who just happened to play ruck for Souths this season. Has a basketball background so maybe has a good leap.

Hey guys, Sth Freo coach played Ariana on ball to some good effect in the WAFLW finals

16 v Tigers with 2 marks and 10 tackles
11 v East with 4 marks and 4 tackles

She won’t play ruck for you, moreso forward I’d suggest.

She’s a good get & is 110% hard at it.

South Fremantle star Ariana Hetherington has signed with Fremantle after winning the race to secure the Dockers’ final list spot.
A season-ending ACL injury to small forward Mikayla Morrison, the second of her career, opened up a spot on Fremantle’s list in June.

And after trialling a number of train-ons across pre-season, the Dockers have offered the final list spot to the talented Bulldogs ruck.
Hetherington has been one of the big improvers in the WAFLW this season, electing to pursue football this season after playing basketball and rugby at a high level.
Playing as a mobile ruck, Hetherington led the WAFLW in hitouts this season and finished in the top ten of the Dhara Kerr medal. Hetherington also won South Fremantle’s Allomes medal as the Bulldogs’ best and fairest player last month.

Hetherington put herself on Fremantle’s radar at the club’s rookie talent search earlier this year intended for cross-code athletes. The 24-year-old was overlooked at the AFLW supplementary draft earlier this year but was invited to be a train-on by the Dockers.

Hetherington has impressed Fremantle with her talent, versatility and attitude across pre-season, prompting the club to officially list her ahead of the AFLW season that kicks off next month.
“It’s been a dream I’ve put on hold for a while so I’d probably burst into tears if it were to happen,” Hetherington told CODE Sports in April when asked what it would mean to live out her AFLW dream.
Fremantle is set to play West Coast in its first taste of pre-season match simulation next Saturday.

I reckon this isa good choice. Mature player with a background in another sport, good size and height. The wildly optimistic supporter in me says this is our next Ebs!
