It's unrealistic to expect skills to be perfect but the amount of handballs that aren't even to the team mate let alone to their advantage is killing the side. Team mate free in the clear 3m away and a hospital handpass landing 1m away from the passing player is shocking. May as well just dump kick it forward if you're going to do that.

another freo season sadly. not up to the standard of skills needed to be a match winning team.

some great coaching at Hawthorn this yeat focusing on SKILLS. read as good article about his focus for the year and it worked

Fremantle need to simply imrpove skills

Hand passes to the player not to space.
Attck the ball and done wait for it to bounce
The looking to do tackles rather than win the ball themselves.
Need to not "kick in hope" but actually look for a player and the players need to run to space. not sit in packs hoping for a mark.

there is always next year is Fremantle clubs motto.

30 yrs and we still waiting for the men. lets hope it sooner for the women

mean time will be back for first game in 2025. Football is over for the year

I think they girls went further than most thought with all the missing players.
But a disappointing end after a good season.
A serious discrepency in skills compared to the Crows.
Almost a lack of football knowledge.Crows were able to give off with hand ball many times to a player running past.We never covered.
They kicked to too many contests where they were out numbered three to one.
After the first quarter, they seemed to lose their way.Never tried to run the ball through the middle, which too me is one of their skills.
Mim Strom is still to me the only player that plays with a footballer knowledge. She is head and shoulders above the other in that sense.Only thing I was disappointed about with her game today was that she tried to play one on one in ruck contests. He opponeent many times was too strong and pushed her aside. Needed to come from behind and jump into her more. But she has had a great season.
Gabby O looked out of sorts early and only became a force after 1/2 time. I think her calf was still sore from last week.
Drizzy and McCarthy worked hard all day, but the Crows numbers were just too many.
Ahhh well, as we Dockers keep saying,"always next year".;)

I think we had more inside 50's in the first quarter than we did for the rest of the match - like 60% first quarter, 40% in the remaining 3 quarters.

Newton did well to be our best player after that knock in the first where she missed about half a quarter. Some other injuries around the same time to key players Miller and O'Sullivan made it difficult to see where we might pick up some momentum during the game.

Scoreline is an accurate reflection of the gap between the two teams but we're on the way up.

As others have noted, a pretty good season overall - we had a solid team this year, much better than a lot of teams, but the top handful are really a class above. Once the rest of the comp improves to the level of crows, bris, hawks etc we’ll have a serious competition on our hands.

Well done Freo :thumbsu:

Felt from the comments after the Essendon game & during the week that winning a final was enough for this group & the coach.
Mentally not prepared or willing to win this one.
