Same old negative sh** every week. Not a threat, much prefer to play them than almost anyone else in the 8 come finals time. Kate McCarthy just as bad. Even when we were 4 games clear at the start of the year it was always something negative. Has been the same the last couple of years, never a positive thing to say about the swans.

Go read every opposition board about tonight's game (even the odd Swans fan here too) they all think we are shite and no chance 🤣

I agree our worst is very poor and looks like it’s lack of effort at times.

But our best is far better than anyone else, and to not even acknowledge that is bizarre.

Let them think and say whatever they want. For the majority of them, their season is finished and for a great deal more they still have to fight for their position.
We are the ones that are laughing....

If we turn out enough of our best footy, we will win the flag. The big question is the 'if' part - and we can't afford for our worst (which looks bottom 4 in quality) to occur in a big final and leave us with too much work to do.

I fear we may pack it in badly like we did against Port if a team takes advantages of our slow starts and puts a gap on us. But equally, if we can control the damage early, I'm confident we can overcome any team we are within reasonable striking distance of at half time. We are definitely vulnerable - make no doubts about it, and the doubts will flood in if someone makes us pay for a slow start in a big final. But equally, we can flick a switch in a way I don't think other teams can - I think teams will know that if they don't get us early in the big matches, we are going to be very hard to beat.

Hopefully we are saving all our good first quarters for the finals and we won't have to worry about slow starts.

So much of this finals series for us will be played between the ears I suspect. We should take confidence from how good our best is, and know that, while there are good teams out there that will challenge us, if we can reach a level near our best, we can go all the way.

In that 3rd qtr you could see very clearly that we decided to flick a switch and start playing with more intent. It was like post bridge in a movie where we all of a sudden get our powers back leading to a happy ending. For the love of god what is it? What is it, at what point do we decide to use it, who decides that we're going to use it, and why can't we just use it all the time? It truly is bizarre.

Also special mention to Hayward, what an immense effort he has put out the last month. To think many fans thought he was an unnecessary player who didn't deserve a wage - have some of that. And be better. Make an effort to understand positional roles and that it's not always going to be their turn.

I love Friday night wins.

I love putting Essendon out of their misery.

I love the old warhorse Parker proving the doubters wrong.

I love being minor premiers.

And I love seeing 2 young players in Campbell and Cleary have cracking games.

Footy is the winner.
Don’t forget Roberts. Love him

We might win a first quarter before they win a final

Its so crazy how when we flick the switch, we go from zero to full bore very quickly. I'm hoping we need less of that come finals time, and more of starting well so we don't need the afterburners. But it must give the players serious confidence to know that the extra gear is there when we need it.

We just don't want to be trying to use it to achieve Mission Impossible because we had a nap in the rooms in the first quarter.

Ye and it's not like we just come out half-arsed and eventually find out feet, we actually look dumbfounded and broken until something switches. I know we've seen the playbook before but I just could not see us having that 2nd half after seeing us looking lost and fragile in the 1st. It is a complete 180.

You can almost exclude the Port game as it’s so bad that it’s clearly an outlier. Outside of that, we haven’t suffered a stretch of losses any worse than anyone else and our best has been better than anyone else.

They can get stuffed.

Our first half was not even top 8 standard. I honestly cant see how playing like this is going to hold up in finals.

Celebrate the win tonight for sure but I'm not getting too excited just yet.

I quite like Horses presser, think the first quarter stuff has been different in different games. Think he has decided to really push the positive and pump the group up
