After what "should" be a regular win against the new guys, we really need to beat either Geel or Syd(both would be great) to avoid playing catch up all year, like last year. We have WC after that which is a tough assignment at the best of times. We don't want to be going 1-4.

We need a really good win next week, and to win in style. Gotta get those confidence levels up and about.

GWS are going to flood back like a motherf****r so we will need to be patient, smart and skillful. Or we count just bomb it onto Petrie's head. We will also need to seriously improve our contested work. I will spit f*****g blood if we get beaten in this stat on the weekend, especially after the really strong gains made last year in this area,

Win well and then go into the Geelong game and take it right too them. 1-4 will not be an acceptable start to the year.

Yes, we have made really strong gains in this area last year, but so far in almost every game this sesaon (including NAB) we have been outpointed in this area. Hard to explain what has gone wrong.

Agree, we don't want to be 2-4 after the WC game (we've got GC17 before them)

Agreed, I mentioned this yesterday, and i feel our best opportunity to square the ledger early days is to take down Sydney at the SCG in round 4.

As we know Geelong will be a tough ask and we have struggled at the SCG vs Sydney in recent years, but after watching their average performance in round 1 (v GWS i know) i feel that game presents our best chance to go 2-2 into the Gold coast game.

boy i hope we smash em.....

So do I but I don't want to see any players waving to the crowd like smartarses after a goal, high fiving and carrying on like they're champions etc etc etc. I want to see us clinically dismantle GWS with excellent execution of a decent gameplan for all four quarters.

won't be too disappointed with 2-4

Sydney at SCG, WCE at subi and Geelong are 3 of our 4 hardest games this year (the other being Collingwood)

it'll be good to get these out of the way early so we can then start getting hot

Man, I hope we beat the Swans. I don't think I've walked out of the SCG happy since CJ iced the comeback game (I slept on the couch that night).

Now THAT was a comeback!

Anyone got it and happy to YouTube the last quarter?

Well if we don't kick 9 goals 85 behinds like we did last year we have to be a chance.

I'm hoping that Hawthorn and Geelong smash shit out of one another this week giving us a good chance of beating them for the 1st time in 5 years.

Geelong might just be beatable 6 days after a war against the Hawks. :thumbsu:

Yeah agreed, us coming off a presumably easy win against the Giants and Geelong coming off a hard and rough game with the Hawks could be factors.

Also they will be without Matthew Scarlett which could give us an edge.
