Genuinely don't think there are any ITKs on this here. Do you honestly think Sonja and the board would be sharing their Intel? And further to that, Clarksons team wouldn't either, the added interest and speculation could only enhance an already strong contractual bargaining position. When he is in a NMFC polo, he's ours.

Some are. Can personally vouch for them, won't say who. The key is, good ITK isn't just x or y is happening, it's context. And because he hasn't made a decision yet and who knows what it will be, all we have is context. It's vital.

Most of this stuff is happening behind closed doors, between people with long histories, involving events most of us don't know about.

I have worked and been involved in the highest levels of goverment - a punter might see a policy, but they'll never know the whole story. Which stakeholders are at war, which leverage so and so has, which secret deals influence and dictate.

The Essendon board are in a full blown shooting match with each other, in public. Whether they get their shit together in time or at all dictates the outcome.

Listen to the context.

I really don't think money is much of a factor in his decision. Both clubs will offer around about the same. Bomber coteries could dwarf any extra salary with property and stock deals.

Schnitzengruben posted this on their board and I want to have a good faith discussion, but for some reason the Essendon posters tend not to like me.

It's a very good point and has helped them get innumerable deals over the line - and will again.

But Clarko is heavily invested in Mark Brayshaw's booming medicinal weed business. For once, we have that angle covered. If we need to get him extra cash and stock, we can.

95 per cent of the time our plucky little club with the heart of gold and great story loses to the bIg cLuB with blockbusters and coteries and blah blah blah.

That's not changing dramatically quickly, or really, ever.

But 5 per cent of the time it works. We'd actually have folded/merged/relocated if it didn't.

And I'm increasingly of the view that this is that time.

For once Essendon can't buy what Clarko wants.

that isn't true at all.

Of course, but the notion he has signed, standby it will be announced tomorrow, Friday, next week is just a public guess. Every single person in and around the industry knows we have met multiple times with Clarko, irrefutable. But there's a bit of Mayo I think being peddled

As painful as the last two/three years has been, I’m glad we had Nobel in charge, he never waded from the fact you build a team midfield out;

Yep, he didn't squib it, and deserves respect for that.

Yep, and imo the main game for Barham is shooting other Essendon types from behind cover of Clarko imo.

If they miss Clarko but internal enemies are dead, then that's the W.

Don't listen to anyone who says he has signed, agreed, nodded and winked, given us a thumbs up emoji react etc.

On the back of Robbo's support I hope Kangas take the exclusive to him and say here mate you didn't try to hang us like these other plebs. Here's the big news, Kanga Clar

Nah, say nothing and roll him out at marvel on the weekend stick him in the old roo ruckle suit, put him behind the wheel of an MX5 to do a bit of circle work, a few tight donuts around the suns players, then Sonja takes over the wheel, Roo Ruckle takes off the suit to reveal its Clarko in a roos polo, right as the theme song is playing and the players come out onto the ground.....stands in front of the banner and high fives all the lads as they run through.

Everything he’s saying lines up with what we know about Clarko - takes his time, is meticulous and will not be rushed.

I think we need to relax a little - the process Sonya has gone through us exactly how Clarko would want it to go. I’m confident in her approach and doubt she could do much more

I think whether we get him or not, Sonja has been great since coming into the role & will only get better moving forward. Very confident things will turn around with her leading the way.
