Well, we need to have a conversation about the complainants being conspirators in some sort of shake down for money.

The salient point is that the complainants didn't initiate this debacle with either a legal claim or a media sensation - they responded to a process initiated by the Hawthorn Football Club, in which the club assured them they would be safe. As I understand the sequence of events, they only got involved with Rusty Jackson AFTER Jackson had received a copy of the report (in other words, after Hawthorn breached their confidentiality).

So if we're looking for conspiracists, I'm not looking at the complainants, who can't have orchestrated this to their advantage because they didn't start it.

But of those who did kick it off, who's got some ulterior benefit?

At that point, I'm looking at the former President. Mr Kennett seems to me to have distinctly narcissistic tendencies - everything is about Jeffery. So if Jeffery needs to be the author of Hawthorn's golden era, who does he need to discredit or get rid of?

So I'm looking at Kennett for someone to blame, not the indigenous people who were only asked questions commissioned by him.

I've said all along I don't see how Clarko comes out of this able to coach. The sticking point with Zac and Kylie seems to be some level of apology from Clarko. Clarko has made it clear he believes he has nothing to apologise for. if he does that admits a degree of guilt - if he doesn't this will continue on. Don't see any resolution in the short term tbh. And that's just Zak and Kylie - what are the other families requiring as a minimum? Just imagine what the AFL are throwing at this in terms of $$$$$s, but without resolution. Sadly, no winners that I can see other than lawyers - they never lose.

I'm sorry for Kylie, less so for Zac, but the general public doesn't give a rat's tossbag about a coach helping some player who said he wanted to break up with his girlfriend. The abortion story was the juice and everything else was just white noise.

Fair angle - interesting. I think one major drama here is the whole fairness of having allegations levelled at you by nameless accusers. Doesn't pass the pub test. But had the ABC journo not published the report story this may have gone down a different path. I also have some sympathy for Zac, Kylie and Co but I think they have been somewhat naive to think they can make these accusations and never be questioned.

Might be worth Clarko going on the record now and saying Zac was agreeable / wanting to end the relationship at the time.

After that the whole thing basically falls apart unless there is some sort of strong evidence to the contrary.

Clarkson and Fagan are not going to say that Zac was agreeable to ending the relationship. Their side of the story is that Zac wanted a breakup and they were simply helping him.

You're right, in terms of the North Melbourne job. But Kennett's anger towards Clarko for walking away from Hawthorn and travelling the world learning new coaching tehniques while being paid by Hawthorn was concurrent with the commissioning of the investigation.

Still he said / she said, but one thing is confirmed that 3 senior people at hawks went to a players house and "supported" him to leave his pregnant partner.

Clarko's involvement is debated, but Burt seems to corroborate that he was a there. The family are arguing that clarko ran the conversation.

There is no deep trouble for Clarko. Regardless of all this posturing, the AFL has all but etched in stone that Clarko and Fagan will not be sanctioned. The only thing that will keep Clarko out of the game is if he feels his health and wellbeing will not allow him to return.

The former. Clarko doesn't strike me as a guy that would acknowledge his wording was misunderstood, or that he should have selected more sensitive language. Makes it really hard to see how a compromise or middle ground could work that would satisfy all parties.

I dont like saying this publicly about any individual, but Jeff Kennett is the biggest low life piece of shit to ever have anything to do with politics or football. If he dropped dead tonight the world will be a far better place for his absence.
