So does that mean we offer him an eight year contract and front load the crap out of it?

Heard it was closer to $300k. He would have earned more than $130k as an engineer coming out of college, we needed to offer him a pretty sweet deal to pick up his life to move over the other side of the world to play a sport that he had a low chance to succeed at.Cox originally got about $130k and a car from memory. Based on equivalence of what he’d earn if he didn’t come and took a job in the US. While I like your thinking, have to assume Condon wouldn’t be coming without an offer of something like 3 years @ $200k+
Coxy makes it sound like him and his brother began the negotiation like a Brennan Huff and Dale Doback job interview.Heard it was closer to $300k. Its the full "football payments".Haven't looked it up, but logic says its only the prescribed minimum that would sit outside the cap. Same treatment as for Cat A rookie payments.
Not when you're a petroleum engineer at ExxonMobil - They compensate heavily because the work is evil. Like working in mining in Australia. A petroleum engineer for an oil company did a breakdown of salary on reddit that said total compensation for a Petroleum Engineer graduate is currently around $200k, so $130k back then isn't an unreasonable figure at all. That’s a lot for a first year grad in any country.

I doubt it. What's he worth in year 4? Anything from nothing - get him off our list - do not upgrade - to a lot.So does that mean we offer him an eight year contract and front load the crap out of it?

It’s a good package for someone who doesn’t have to leave his home country, friends and family and travel across the other side of the planet. Not so much someone in Cox’s situation with his qualifications and a high paying job offer already on the table.Guess it depends what you hear. I heard $130k. May have been equivalent of US$130k but in 2013-14 we were just below parity so that wouldn’t have made much difference. Just checked current salaries for US petrochemical engineers (seemed to recall that’s his qual) and entry level is less than $80k, top end $150-160k so $130k with a car thrown in is a good package. Assume we’d have covered his accommodation as well.
Whatever the actual number was, it’s been reported in multiple outlets that he was offered a job with a six figure starting salary as a mechanical engineer (easily found on google). It’s unlikely that an AFL offer would have been the equivalent of it, more likely significantly better in order to entice him over (and there were multiple clubs chasing his signature too which we need to take in to account).Seems it depends on your source but the average salary is currently $137k according to mine so allowing it’s 11 years since Cox signing I’m happy with my recall.

As long as he doesn't have any holes, or let too much through.I'm going to call him condom until we see him in the flesh. He's a fake euphoria atm
Well to be fair, he does have leave his home state, friends, and family and travel across the entire country, so it's not entirely without disruption. But yeah, less. It’s a good package for someone who doesn’t have to leave his home country, friends and family and travel across the other side of the planet. It was said at the time he had an offer on the table from Mobilexxon that was the rough equivalent of $200k AUD.
Well, I thought that was his nickname until one of comrades' spell checked meI'm going to call him condom until we see him in the flesh. He's a fake euphoria atm
me neither. I'm only going off the stats. That doesnt sound earth shattering, not that I know much about basketball.

He is from Dallas and went to Oklahoma State University. It's a four-hour drive.Well to be fair, he does have leave his home state, friends, and family and travel across the entire country, so it's not entirely without disruption. But yeah, less.
I think it was a reference to Condon being from WA.He is from Dallas and went to Oklahoma State University. It's a four-hour drive.
for those following his stats, 3 point shooting has become almost an essential requirement to play nba. At Condons height and athleticism he needs to be a decent shooter. first season shot it at a poor 29%, this year so far only 4 attempts. thats not gonna cut it, needs more attempts at 35% or better.
