He has been injured all year, so it's hard to make a massive judgement on him, but for mine I wouldn't be against seeing him traded or bundled into a trade, to boost a draft pick or get a star recruit (although there aren't too many options in this category this year).

Sure he is a crafty player who can kick goals and knows how to get the ball, but in the same breath, he is a player who can be selfish (taking shots he shouldnt, and taking too long to make a decision between passing and making himself look good) and he is on the softer side of the toughness spectrum.

IF Dale Thomas goes, I think he is a must to keep. He can be developed into the role that Daisy plays, if Daisy stays, what position does he play? Players like K-Mart (albeit with his minimal opportunities) and Josh Thomas have passed him and I'd put Clinton Young above him (playing on the wing).

For mine, he's a depth player at most, handy to keep, but could be worth more to us in a trade, than sitting in the VFL.

I was thinking about this on the way home from the game on Saturday night. It's really hard to make a call on him as we haven't really seen him at his best and injury free for a really long time. He burst onto the scene and made such an impact in 2011 it's hard to imagine we can't find a spot for him in the best 22 next year assuming he's fit - but it's been a long stint on the sidelines for Fas. I don't want to see him traded just yet, especially considering we delisted Krak and Didak - who are most similar fits to him.

I really hope he gets back to his best next season, we missed the X-Factor this season with Krak/Didak not getting consistent games and Fas injured. It's just really difficult to gauge at how well players will come back from injury.

Get him fit and play him.... People have short memories. This kid will be our direct replacement for dids.. X-factor, lethal boot, clever and seriously dangerous.. We need him firing, definitely make us a better team.

I would like to think that Buckley challenged him in the player's end of season review to take it to the next level in terms of his fitness, accountability and maturity.

The Club has shown great faith in Fasolo and it is time he delivered with Didak, Krakouer and possibly Thomas not there next season.

Has screamed X-Factor since his arrival but has not consisitently shown it, needs to develop tank to eventually rotate through the midfield.

Big pre-season ahead for this "fresh" lad.

Best 22 when fit, easssssiiillllllllyyyyyyyyyyyy. Name me two better small forwards that we have on the list who can also play in the midfield? Before he was injured Alex was being groomed to be a future Didak type, someone who would play forward primarily but would also raise his fitness levels so he could join in the midfield rotation. Elliott doesn't strike me as a midfield option at any point, but he's probably our best small forward, but Alex will offer so much more.

He stays, his foot skills alone makes him more important than some of the big names who under performed in 2013.

For me, in the current climate he is going to be the next Dale Thomas for us, that is is Dale leaves. I think we already have replacements for Didak and Krak in Elliot and Kyle Martin. They are the small crumbing types of our future that will bolster our forward line.

The current situation has Fasolo as a fringe player, probably in our best 5 outside of our 22. I'm not saying he is a bad player, but I think his trade value at this point in time is the highest it will get, before taking a risk. There is potential for him to become a very valuable forward player, but there is also the risk that he will never be the same after a year off from ankle injury. My opinion is, if we can get something good for him, move him on, and really re-build the side with a diverse group of players, as opposed to a lot of the same, which is what we are currently experiencing.

Fas is probably our best small forward when healthy and going, no way id be trading him. Offers a hell of a lot more than Elliott and others.

Richo among others consider Elliott to be one of the smartest small forwards going around. Get another pre-season into him before he can be judged, still has a small tank.

Source..?

for science and such...

pretty spunky if you ask me :)

Get him fit and play him!! Instantly becomes the best, or next to best kick in the 22.
Rather have him either kicking at goal or kicking into F50 than any player that was on the park Saturday night.

You always have injuries in this game, but imagine the combined impact of including minimum 20 games next season from each of Fasolo, Toovey, Thomas, Beams, Young and Grundy. Makes a massive difference and all discussion about our year, from culture to coaching, should no exclude this.
