Geez, if the AA selection committee was watching yesterday's game they would now have doubts about Mitchell. He was very very ordinary yesterday. Good at clearances when he can just boot it, but terrible disposal when he has some time.

dont really know how people can still fit in either of the cornes brothers in their estimates, wouldnt think either have had particularly productive seasons...? correct me if im wrong though.

would be very interesting to see if didak is included on the back of his latest mishap with shaw- i wouldnt mind betting that if he hadnt have been there and was still playing as per usual he'd be a certainty just about, but this might just have thrown a spanner in the works:thumbsdown:

Kane has had a fantastic season and Chad has been injured most of the season. Kane would be thereabouts to make the squad of 40 IMO.

Gee, Riewoldt would almost have to make it now wouldn't he?

His form has been irressistable.

I didn't want to include him because of his 1st half to 2008, but hey, look at J. Brown of 2007.

Would they go Pavlich, Franklin, Fevola and Riewoldt?

IMHO, Robert Murphy has played himself out of being a near lock.

Probably not. Youll probably find Pavlich the one missing out.

After Round 20:

B: Tom Harley (c); Matthew Scarlett; Dale Morris
HB: Luke Hodge; Nathan Bock; Corey Enright
C: Matthew Richardson; Jimmy Bartel; Joel Corey
HF: Ryan O'Keefe; Nick Riewoldt (vc); Brent Harvey
F: Steve Johnson; Lance Franklin; Brendan Fevola
R: Dean Cox; Gary Ablett; Adam Cooney
INT: David Hille; Brett Kirk; Sam Mitchell; Matthew Pavlich

Still not sure on Steve Johnson but no one else has really stood out as a small/medium forward. Maybe Medhurst but he has dropped off a bit lately.

Very, very good team. As for Johnson, personally I don't think he deserves a spot. I always had Chapman ahead of him but now he's been injured it won't happen. Can't see anyone ahead of Johnson now though.

That is a very good effort. :thumbsu:

I agree with you about Johnson, how about Cyril Rioli as a small forward. :p

Make the forward line top heavy.

O'Keefe Reiwoldt Richardson
Pavlich Franklin Fevola

They all deserve to be there

take 9 spots for the midfield

Ablett
Harvey
Bartel
Mitchell
Cooney
Kirk
Corey
Cox
Hille

back 6

Scarlett
Bock
Morris...

then I'm lost, have absolutely NFI

then there's one bench spot (excl. ruckman and 2 mids) that could be used for an extra defender forward or Selwood/Hodge, as they are the closest midfielders.

Interesting to see some have now penned Riewoldt into the CHF slot on weight of performance. More than likely equal with Bartel for the best player in the game for the second half of the season to date.

Pavlich will be there tho...and a likely Vice Captain due to being a beez dick off it last season until they went for the shock selection of McLeod as Captain. Even though Riewoldt does play a more true CHF role Pav has been carrying that mob all season and his performances have been very consistent early whilst Riewoldt was carrying that leg problem.

Still dont see Sam Fisher much...also just missed out last yr and i have a sneaking suspicion he will get in this yr. Another damn fine season in both a KP and attacking flanker role.

Enough good defenders about not to plug HBF's with midfielders.

I think that forward line of yours is a bit to tall with 5 power forwards and 1 small forward.

B: H.Shaw M. Scarlett T.Harley

HB: S. Fisher N.Bock L. Hodge(vc)

HF: J. Akermanis J. Brown(c) N. Riewoldt

so y should two of the positions go to collingwood players. medhurst is having a great year and so is didak but doubt that both would get in. maybe one or other.

haha, what a pisser

I do like this as a solid AA backline right now.
Has every need covered.
Milburn still ahead of Enright for mine.
Likely 3 Geelong backs coz they're that damn good.

FB: Harley....Scarlett....Morris
HB: Fisher......Bock......Milburn

The thing I like most about that backline is how perfectly it lines up with those dots between each of the players' names.

So solid, so stingy, so versatile, so.... NEAT!
