I’m very much doubtful it will be a serious problem. There are steps that have to be done and as far as I’m aware, transgender players have undergo strength tests and things like that, and someone who has completely transitioned from male to female actually has less testosterone than a biological female.View attachment 1974230
Hearing more and more about this becoming prevalent in our competition and the fear from biological women playing who are refusing to take the field. Is this a problem for the future of womens football?
i think the NFNL have more serious issues to sort out given the rumours ive heard this week of at least 2 Junior Clubs looking to leave and go to the Yarra League.I’m very much doubtful it will be a serious problem. When you look at it mathematically, even with a large estimate of 1% of the population being transgender, we’ll say half of them being MTF comes down to 0.5% of the country, or 130,000 people. Then factor in other things like whether they enjoy football enough to want to play. Do they feel alienated by footy culture because pre-transition they felt the culture wasn’t welcoming of LGBTQ+ individuals? Are at an age where they can play? I don’t think you can be fully medically transitioned before turning 18, and you’d be pretty hard pressed to find many 40+ year olds playing footy at all. And of course whether or not they’ve reached the stage of transition to even be allowed to play women’s footy, did they come out early enough for playing women’s footy to even be an option?
All of these factors that would apply to a different extent for every person would see that 130,000 person figure that I estimated would drop dramatically. I’ve only ever heard of two transgender players at VFLW level and I’m sure there’d be some more across the various women’s footy leagues around the country but it wouldn’t be a lot. I’m a big advocate for everyone to be able to play footy. There are players like Sabrina Frederick-Traub who’s a physical outlier and you wouldn’t forbid her from playing footy because she could dominate, and I wouldn’t want to see someone who’s seriously transitioned be excluded from footy for that reason either, because the incidence rate wouldn’t be anywhere near big enough for it to be a problem.
Due to the NFNL transgender policies? surely not.i think the NFNL have more serious issues to sort out given the rumours ive heard this week of at least 2 Junior Clubs looking to leave and go to the Yarra League.
No nothing to do with transgender policies.Due to the NFNL transgender policies? surely not.
No doubt there would be clubs looking at YJFL, but I'd be extremely surprised if that was the reason.
Apologies, I mis-read your previous post.No nothing to do with transgender policies.
Other issues at hand i believe.
meaning i think the NFNL would be or should be more concerned with Clubs leaving the league than this stuff.
What do you see? What’s the issue with the juniors? Seems to run well from what I see.
Not sure how true or if there’s really anything in it but I’ve heard the same talk. Two of the bigger junior clubs in the NFNL considering YJFL due to Yarra having more divisions, which means a closer competition each week and no 100 point gap between top and bottom teams.i think the NFNL have more serious issues to sort out given the rumours ive heard this week of at least 2 Junior Clubs looking to leave and go to the Yarra League.
yep thats what i heard also, amongst other general unhappiness about things in the NFNL.Not sure how true or if there’s really anything in it but I’ve heard the same talk. Does this potentially allow the bigger c;lubs to become more aggressive in their appraoch to families from neighbouring clubs if they do not have to play against the clubs theyve been pried away from? Not sure how true or if there’s really anything in it but I’ve heard the same talk. I think the reason might be because of what the crowd around the camera says, sometimes the camera operators might put it down in their discretion that there's a lot of swearingLove going to watch a replay and there is no sound. Absolute joke how often this happens with “Sportscast”
Are the NFNL ok with this?
Meanwhile other leagues have full stats and replays with sound.
LOL. This is just a plain crap excuse and I don’t buy it. Incompetent company.I think the reason might be because of what the crowd around the camera says, sometimes the camera operators might put it down in their discretion that there's a lot of swearing
Definitely very annoying no doubt but I'm pretty sure that's always been the reasonLOL. This is just a plain crap excuse and I don’t buy it. Incompetent company.
Plenty of cameras you can hear people chatting away. Who cares.
Who’s going to watch a replay in silence, honestly.
Amazing no other league seems to have an issue and it’s completely inconsistent issue venue wise.Definitely very annoying no doubt but I'm pretty sure that's always been the reason
You may find that a lot of those games have no sound because the camera is next to the coaches box. Pretty sure coaches don’t want their directions to players out there for every club to hear.Love going to watch a replay and there is no sound. Absolute joke how often this happens with “Sportscast”

Which match are you referring to?LOL. This is just a plain crap excuse and I don’t buy it. Incompetent company.

Righto. I was at the latter. Can understand why there's no audioBanyule vs Mont
Ivanhoe vs Mernda
Every week there are some at random
They infiltrate and get roles by kissing the appropriate arses, then start businesses to charge parents to train kids and then select them for these programs.Does this potentially allow the bigger c;lubs to become more aggressive in their appraoch to families from neighbouring clubs if they do not have to play against the clubs theyve been pried away from?
Keilor doing it over the other side of town and saw some staggering SMS messaging from a NFNL junior club identity to a family friend yesterday whilst watching the bullants and port Melbourne.
Guy is asttempting to "invite" his son across for a better standard, conveniently dropping in that he has connections to the NFNL rep, Calder Cannons and Calrton's NGA program.
Mind you the boy is 13/14 I think and as I said bloody adult egos are killing junior football
what a poor excuse of a football person. how do these people infiltrate and get roles?
