Diamond Valley has had some some legends such as Easton and Robbo I reckon Vinny takes the title.
Is it 2 or 3 ? playing at Lalor
2 playing at Bundoora and 2 coaching Bundoora
2 or 3 flags now at Bergs?
Close to 10 top grade flags
Well done Vinny
Great achievement would have to be great discussion he certainly has the runs on the board .

Don’t put all VFL players in the same basket. Some are there assisting their local team on game days they are not playing, go to every training night they can , some have played over 200 games for their local club … why shouldn’t their club benefit from them playing if able? Their clubs and their club coaches are the ones who played a huge part in developing them as footballers. They should be able to reap the benefits if they are available and qualified to play. There will always be hard luck stories on grand final days . A coach should be able to play his best side.

I’m really not. I’ve played at one of the GF clubs from Div 1 in the last 10 years. When finals rolls around and the VFL boys come rolling in, guys I haven’t seen attend a training session for the entire season, it’s deflating. Playing against sides that become stacked full of players I’ve never seen before.

The cases you are putting forward do exist, and those players are great don’t get me wrong, but in all honesty are extremely rare.

Make them play 5-6 games not 3.

Good to see Sam Gimore in his Heidelberg gear on Saturday. No doubt he will be a welcomed addition next year along with Josh Minogue and Tom Schnerring. I found it interesting Heidelberg supporters seemed more vocal during the reserves game, with particular attention paid to no. 96. Anyone know why?

96 from Monty is the younger brother of Monty senior captain.

I’ve been told from a good source Gilmore will be staying at Parade.

It needs to be reviewed. Currently with the make up of the VFL and multiple byes through out the season players are playing the complete season in the VFL and then NFNL games during the byes. Which is not how the system is designed to work. If your not good enough to play the full VFL season, fine, come back and play at the local club and qualify for finals but not by playing 3 games (or sitting in the twos bench) in bye rounds and play 18 VFL matches.

If they change the number of games to 6 and a VFL side is not going to play finals … the VFL coach can then just let a local player play the extra for his local club for the remainder of the season … I have seen this happen this year where other leagues require more than 3 to qualify … changing the amount of games required will not necessarily stop VFL players coming back to local club. Only thing that can is if the VFL side plays finals.

What is a good laugh is the article in Heraldsun about Mont being sore and being young probably sHould just have said yeah we were well and truly outplayed and were lucky to get so close with bad kicking at goal. Another good comment like saying the day before Grand Final Vinny hasnt had anyone made him coach yet

Was told that particular player went to the tribunal and tipped in a Heidelberg player for belting him.
No idea if this is fact though

Plenty of cap space left at the bergs. Must be a good laugh for the league to see what’s written on the contracts
Same old story. Can write down to the league whatever numbers you like, as long as it goes sunder the cap. Then pay them whatever you like, any way you like.

It’s impossible to stop. So no point going on about it every year.

I would never normally say this on a public forum but the actions of that Montmorency reserves player at the tribunal two weeks ago was nothing short of disgraceful. I was at the game in question and did not see a single punch thrown, let alone 3. If only he knew that by lagging Jake he
effectively galvanised the entire club.

Massive flog the younger brother so no surprises he was copping some heat.

Is he the one that signed with another club and had that put all over socials etc get all the gear and do preseason then decided he wanted to play Div 1 again and pulled out, only to play reserves most the year?
