He's not JR bad but I've found him very lacking compared to the others so far.
I think he's been terrific. My favourite play by play announcer in the business since Excalibur has become so annoying. Possibly encouraged to be that way by Warner/Discovery but either way not like he was for All In and first 6 months or so.

Opinions are like arseholes as they say, I think Excalibur is leagues ahead of him.

From my perspective I find that Kelly talks to the audience, where Excalibur talks at the the audience. They both know their stuff and be quite excitable at times. so I find that Kelly can draw me into a match, where at times Excalibur can draw me out of a match. Both are better than Jericho on Rampage though who is constantly yelling, which really wants to make me hit mute. Although I find Jericho quite good as narrator on Dark Side of the Ring.

Brian Pillman Jr's contract with AEW has expired.
Not surprising since he never really seemed to progress but at the same time kinda hard when he didn't get much opportunities and when he did it was next to the massive charisma vacuum that is Brock Anderson.

Dont know why they didn't give him a chance on ROH atleast though

Griff Garrison wasn’t much help to him either. Maybe if he joined AEW as a tag team with Harry Smith, he could have got some traction, using the Hart connection.

Kevin Kelly now promoting some bullshit QAnon movie on his socials, turns out he didn't pass my vibe check.

Honestly shocked to see the amount of people on here thinking he is a strong point when I think he is the weak link of an otherwise awesome show.

Kelly commentates in an understated fashion like it's a sporting event. Is articulate and sounds completely professional.

Excalibur commentates like he's one of the boys and is trying a bit hard to be the focal point of the booth and cram in every word he can to prove how much knowledge he's got.

It's like Jason Bennett vs Brian Taylor.

I understand why people like the latter, but give me the former personally.

Obviously not a perfect analogy but this is pretty unfair to Excalibur, he knows his stuff. He is definitely more animated than Kelly but I don't personally think it is detrimental to the call.

Still, it is preferred to have separate commentary teams for sure. I just find KK and JR drag down their respective casts.

I suppose it could be done. Although I’m not high on the idea.

I'd imagine (hope) that establishing more regular 'special' Dynamite/Collision episodes might fill that requirement, which would make more sense as far as advertising revenue anyway.

I wouldn't want any more than a PPV every other month.

Having a 'big six' allows storylines to develop as well as no real need to have opposing combatants cutting promos every week in the build up. It also allows a larger roster a week off as required.

I'm locked in on AEW (I don't bother with WWE these days) but am finding I'm already getting behind watching Dynamite, Rampage and Collison. A PPV every month would push me back further.

Cole & MJF has been great. The Wayne vs Strickland match was great too.

Pac makes great storyline sense, but I thought that was a pretty underwhelming announcement.

Fightful claiming that Warner Bros Discovery want AEW to do a PPV every month.

Way too much oversaturation.

That doesn't make any sense. Why would their tv partner want less big matches on their shows?

I think with Collision it's reached critical mass in terms of what I'm prepared to watch, I don't need more hours of AEW.

Yeah the announcement segment was a little underwhelming, I wonder if they were hoping to have Ibushi there and couldn't make it...

Regardless, I am so pumped for Blood & Guts.

Also agree, Dynamite and Collision is more than enough weekly.
