Yes they did f*** it up. It will be devastating for their health system. But in some ways it could be better for their economy as they will get to herd immunity quicker. Although this new rule will now probably slow that down.
and while you are at it - it wont be devastating to the US helath care system. It will be exactly like it is now.
Its already ****ed up.

The people that have $$ will be fine.
Those without $$ will be ****ed.
Exactly like it is now.

Now - it an abhorent system that is predicated on money and wealth creation that is its sole and only focus.

Patient care and well being is a side note.

But to say it will be devasting just shows a lack of comprehension of its current state. But hey... its sounds good right?

bullshit they are.

No schools are closed for the year.

A few weeks - absolutely. Dont make shit up. There is enough crap floating around right now without you having to add to it..

GO Catters
Ofcourse they will be closed for the remainder of the school year. this virus spread is going to be worse in 4 weeks time not better. if they are implementing the policy now then Us Schools are closed for their year And wont start up again until after the summer holidays.

You have no idea about what is about to hit do you.

There's a difference between year and school year, and you keep referencing year which implies through to 31 Dec 2020

And the last day for the current school year is June 2020 - maybe things will be closed for the next 3 months, but also a good chance they won't be

you are so full of #%#% its not funny

Now you say "their school year" as opposed to " the year"

Nice edit - changes the time by at least 7 months - you only changed that by over 1/2 a year.

And still no US school has been closed for the remainder of its school year.

Stop spouting lies and stick to facts - or even something that resmebles one. Like try and be with in 2 months of an estimation FFS.

Still no impacted AFL player:

"All clear! Thanks for heaps of people who reached out. I was seriously fine and had a runny nose and that was about it, thanks jax for that. House is spotless on a positive note."

Scott Pendlebury's test for COVID-19 returned a negative result.

Great news for the Collingwood skipper and his family 🙌

Yeah I do. About 5% of the US population will pass as a result of this - so about 20 million people.

Its abhorent when you do the math.

And this place will explode.

Differnce is - im not on here rubbing peoples faces in it and making up shit about it so I can be right on a ****ing footy forum.

I actually don't think the people with money will be fine. The capacity won't be there. When even the people with money and insurance don't get care there's no one left to defend the status quo except the people profiting from it then expect change, non-violent or otherwise

Money always wins out.

The ones with the most will survive. Unless lawlessness sets in.

And judging by the lines at all the gun stores - that is IMO the next step when all hell breaks loose.

Its frightening.

He didn't go to the NRL in the end - it was Friday night or Saturday morning (after his large gathering restriction announcement) that he said he actually wasn't going to go and watch the Sharks play

Maybe he was concerned about being in a large unnecessary gathering which is why he backed out from his original intention to go
My bad. I thought League crowds were allowed to turn up and he was gonna go.
Then he was going to some church the next day that donated him money.
Point still stands. Way, way to late to react and contain like Taiwan, Korea etc have.
We don't even have a proper policy yet! It's just wait and see.

Summer coming and hopefully a vaccine you won't get anywhere near that number.

It still might be bad. I read ( dunno if true) that the U.S. only has 1 million hospital beds?
Might only be for the Mega cashed up, not regular cashed up.

Given we are right on the part of the curve that gets into serious territory I can't see the footy going ahead this week. Not with the upswing in cases yesterday. We'll be as the number of cases Italy had when the proverbial hit the fan by the weekend.

He was going to go, but he started copping backlash, and as usual scotty from marketing makes a decision to make himself look good.

Even though it was the right choice, he had to backflip after saying he was 100% going to go.

Gotta love the doomsday spreaders though. Do these people realise the more they talk shit and build it all up, the worse it makes things? Get a life people, this is only temporary and we will get through this without the world turning to ash.

There is certainly a massive doom and gloom mood prevailing here.
Some of it media driven, some due to the anxiety of not knowing how and when it will end, some because some people can not handle not being in control.
I agree with you- we will get through this. You've got to have some faith in the world leading virologists working through this and getting vaccines and Tamiflu like meds. We have come a long way in medicine and technology, and there is no need for a feeling of impending doom. It certainly is unprecedented and looks chaotic, but we raise millions of $ for RCH, and Bush fire appeals, and many other things, and when people are put under the torch of stress, it's a really good test to see what they're made of. How people respond to significant adversity is a true measure of their resilience and character. I like to think we have, globally, and here at home, enough of both. Focusing on those more at need than ourselves would go a long way during this period of uncertainty.

Bizarre take.
17 games gives the comp a level of credibility that it can’t achieve with 22 games.

Everyone plays one another once. No arguments over sides making/missing finals based on who they play twice

Those arguments are absolutely going to be there. If you only play a team once - where do you play them? That alone is going to generate tons of arguments.

Just go to any supermarket to see how well that's working.

More meaningful than 22. Those 5 extra games are contrived and never fair. I'd be happy with this to be the ongoing situation tbh. Many teams flounder in some of those last few games. Our more senior players would really benefit from a 17 round season, as would the really young recruits.

Contrived and never fair? We've had a 22 game home and away season for about fifty years.

You wouldn't be happy if your club had any kind of aging list. A full season wasted will be the end of a few careers, and others will all be a year older. Just about all Geelong's important players for starters.

That herd immunity effect kicks in to slow itself down around the 70% of population infected mark and most of the projections have us hitting that in a year regardless. Happy to be wrong because that would mean we're managing it more effectively

Never Herd immunity I don't care what anyone or the government says.

If they are saying herd immunity we have already lost.

Don't care what anyone says I would never budge on that opinion

It has been UNFAIR since we changed from a 12 team comp. You do realise back then we played each team TWICE. Now with the 16-18 team comps , it's seriously unfair. 17 GAMES at least alleviates one source of unfairness. We can not play each team twice, as it appears, so why not just once, and that's it.
