Sorry I'm more distressed by the tragic event then carping/ political point scoring.

It's a failing of the stupid, that they think other people must be as dumb as they are.

You came into the Palestine-Israel thread to proclaim terror before there had been any suggestion of it elsewhere. You didn't really care about the victims, because you are a low individual. You only hoped that the perpetrator was motivated by Gaza.

Most multiple killings aren't terrorism, as the case of America would indicate.

I think you're utter filth, but you fit very well with the sudden internet explosion in Islamophobia, anti-Arabism, and anti-immigration. Just another lowlife wanting to make political capital from tragedy for the sake of their agenda.

Discomforting but not surprising when Germany decides that democracy isn't so great after all.

It seems that the police banned Salman Abu Sitta and he appeared on video....so the police turned the power off..

I've been told that the germans have it in their constitution that they cant upset jews because of what they did in the war...and bringing the murder of palestinians to the attention of german jews is upsetting them.

Maybe I was harsh, but I'm a product of these difficult times. And I suspect that he likes it a bit spicy.

This is an extract from an essay by Salman Abu Sitta from January.

Meanwhile, the war against those young people who crossed the line to return home continues. They have to contend with falling bombs in Gaza and a relentless smear campaign abroad.

He refers to the 3000 terrorists who killed, r*ped and murdered civilians as "young people who crossed the line to return home."

He is a disgrace.

A surgeon from Gaza was invited to speak in Germany about the situation he has been working in.

He's been detained by German authorities, and will not be allowed entry to speak about such provocative things.

I'm not sure that the Germans really know how not to be fascist. It's just one of their things, something they do, like nudism.

A surgeon who works in conflict zones who regularly memorialises and celebrates terrorists and their acts... would be a more apt and appropriate description wouldn't you agree?

Some israelis point to the IDF and call them murderers but most dont. Some Palestinians point to the Hamas fighters who crossed the border and admit they're murderers, but most wouldnt. I dont know why you get surprised by your adversaries when you're trying to get rid of them either by bombing them, starving them or getting them sent out of the country.

So dont worry. Things are going fine. It seems that the democrats in the US who wrote a letter have reconsidered a little bit, and biden has come out in strong support of israel. Things are going fine. No one's stopping the starvation of the Palestinians, irrespective of the german protests, and aussie protests and all the court cases. The people will die. You'll be happy. Things are going fine.

Well forgive Germany for trying to prevent the spread of radicalised hatred.

i'm not the first to say that if you keep people in a collective prison for 2 decades that it's going to create some angry people. The other aspect is what happens if you dont allow people to express how they're feeling about being confined and being bombed.

I dont lack understanding about why germany is doing what it is doing. However, to supply weapons to israel and to back it unconditionally is not the right thing to do.

A few things.
1.) I'm a poster in the crime thread.
2.) I'm genuinely touched by the heroism and tragedy of this event.
3.) This is the politics thread.
4.) If you want to take exception at people pushing agendas in the face of tragedy go to the society board where people aggressively pushing their agendas before bodies are warm when there are mass shootings in America. Im not talking g about taegeting the obvious pro gun loons.

5.).I dont have an anit-muslim anti-immigration agenda
6.) Everyone is still speculating on the motive, especially me. Its hard to comprehend how anyone could kill newborn babies.

End rant. That's all.

I presume that he’s said worse than this? At this point you’re calling him a disgrace who spreads radicalised hatred on the basis of a quote in which he negatively refers to the October attack, if not with the emotive vehemence you might like.

You're a vile opportunist who cares nothing for the people who were butchered, caring only for the chance to suggest that the murderer was motivated by Gaza.

Crawl back underneath whatever rock you slithered out from.

If you ever have the displeasure of reading his memoirs, My Battlefield, Mapping My Return etc you will find the reasons for my disgust at this individual. If we were to follow his misdirected, nepotistic and hateful views the violence we see in Gaza would be multiplied a thousand fold.

'Mapping My Return' seems to be about his family being uprooted by Israelis during the Nakba, and an effort to mentally recover a world which was stolen from them.

Yet you're suggesting to me a man more hateful than Netanyahu, and I suppose I'll have to take your word for it.

Edit: Cursory research finds respectable reviews of a 'moving memoir' from respectable institutions. For example:

Here is a message from this morning from our family whatsapp group. It is from a current IDF member. No point to be made just thought i'd share.

You are all probably waking up to the news, but here's a brief:

Iran has shot five waves of unmanned aerial drones and cruise missiles at Israel from Iranian territory, Syria and Yemen.

Over 500 missiles en routes to Israel in these waves.

Israel currently working with US and other allies to shoot them down over Iraq, Syria and Jordan.

Hexbollah launched massive concurrent attack from the north.

All airspace over the Middle East is closed.

Israel has launched missile attacks on Tehran and southern Lebanon,

The first wave of missiles set to reach Israel in 20 minutes.

Israel on highest state of readiness. Entire Israeli cabinet on a plane in the air.

Israel is at war with Iran.

It is unlikely that Tel Aviv or Jerusalem have been targetted.

I have been in contact with people there.

Israel/US and others including possibly Saudi Arabia are set to defend.

Let's see what happens, Israel is very capable.

But Tehran is in trouble: Israel will now go against the regime directly.

Israeli and coalition warplanes are shooting these hundreds of things out of the sky. They will prevail.

Iran had no choice but to respond to the attack on its embassy.

We could do without the escalation. The US and Israel will keep Israel safe, or safe enough, but I particularly fear for the people of Tehran.

I should've visited Tehran when I had the chance, except I haven't actually had the opportunity at all.

Safety to all.

so thats 33,000 X 1000....and thats not counting the 70,000 casualties....and those missing under the rubble which supposedly number several thousand...

and thats just the palestinians...

I'm really sorry to hear that zev.
I also have friends who are from Iran too and feel for the innocents caught in the middle of it all. Must be heartbreaking that there's so many pigheaded tyrants running the show over there.

it seems that missiles and drones have been shot down. I expect several thousand iranians are going to pay the price....
If you know a few Iranians, if it brought about regime change, then that would be a necessary evil.

more necessary evil eh windy.... i presume that we'll be hearing more good v evil stuff over the coming weeks. So far it appears that one ichild has been injured. I think that will mean a lot of necessary evil inflicted on iran..
