It will be interesting to see how we treat some of our young players with no Magpies games going ahead.

There is an opportunity for players like Hayes, Bergman and Williams to effectively have an extended pre-season without having to worry about match fitness or impacts.

If we do this wisely we could see some real benefits for these players in the back half of this year.

The only downside would be potentially making them unavailable for selection in the early rounds of AFL due to workload.

What do you think?

Should we do it?

I think players will just be training and will be on standby when needed.

Gut feel is that if we get thru 2 rounds and the numbers, more so deaths, don't go thru the roof, and the AFL don't get a huge backlash, the AFL will start trying to squeeze in 3 rounds into 2 weeks or 3 into 4, so 5 day breaks, playing everyday/night bar Monday and 5 to 8 changes a game might be the norm, so most kids would then get a game.
