Thanks for your assessments I've enjoyed reading them.Who should your club target with its first pick/ early picks
Part 3
Geelong: After landing Jeremy Cameronand giving up their 3 first round draft picks, their first pick is currently at 51. That will push into the 40s after matched academy selections, but theyll also look to use the 2nd rounders part the cameron deal to land a player in the higher up in the draft. Unfortunately theyll miss out on the highly rate Falcon boys, but a midfielder such as Zavier Maher would be high on their radar. He likes to get in and under at the contest and has great burst speed from the stoppage. Theyll also be looking at landing a ruckman to develop, Neale would be a great selection but he could be gone by their selection. A player like Heath would be great for Geelong, a physical ruckman who isnt afraid throw his weight around and be the leader of the midfield brigade.PLAYERCARDSTART5Jeremy Cameron

Richmond: Its hard to assess what the tigers really need at their first pick with their list in such a great position, with depth on every line. With Cotchin closer to the end than the start, they could use another contested ball winner inside. A player like Berry could be seen as a replacement. He's a tough nut, but also possesses great agility and endurance - which is needed in the Richmond system.
St Kilda: The busy players of the last 2 trade periods have seen the saints and a lot of pieces to their side. They are probably short 1 key defender, but unfortunately for them DGB, Cox, Reid and Chapman will be off the board by their first pick. They could look to add some x-factor to their forward half/ midfield, a player like Ford could be that guy. Dangerous around stoppages, a threat in the air and lovely hands in close. Ford is a great size and if he develops in a dynamic midfielder who rests forward, he could be a great addition to the saints team and add a point of difference to their midfield.
Sydney: The swans will get the very talented Campbell via their academy, but they are desperate to replenish their tall stocks at either end of the ground. They'd love either Thilthorpe or Mcdonald to fall into their laps at 3 as they need a successor to Buddy after Daniher chose to move to the lions instead. At the other end the ground they dont have much on the shelf either. Often Rampe is called upon to play on guys much bigger than himself and Aliir just left the club. A player like Grainger-barras would suit Sydney perfectly, he's an ultimate professional, extremely athletic, has great football iq and a great pair of hands. He would be high on the board for the swans and could the leader of the swans backline for the next decade and a worthy selection at 3.
Western Bulldogs: Well this one is simple, they will be matching a bid for Ugle-hagan where ever it comes. It's not everyday a club gets free access to a potential generational player. The bulldogs will just hope the bid comes at 2-3 so it doesnt wipe out their entire draft.
West Coast: With all their draft picks wiped out because of the Tim Kellytrade last season, their first selection stands at 62. Theyll look at trading into the draft earlier on draft night. They need some young midfield depth coming through and could look to a player like Trew if he slides on draft night. The eagles also love quality ball users coming out of defence, with Jetta gone and Sheppard/ Hurn almost at the end, they could find value in the classy half back out of Sturt, Carruthers. He rarely wastes a possession, is a lovely kick of the footy and would fit into their system perfectly.PLAYERCARDSTART11Tim Kelly

Just finished watching the metro boys go through their paces up at high gate. A lot of boys have really filled out and look like senior footballers already.
- Cox is looking massive and moved really well.
- McMahon looked good clean hands, hardly missed a kick.
- Brand has put on a fair bit of size.
- Perkins just glided through the drills, skills were elite.
- Ford looked in ripping nick, so strong through the core with tree stump legs (went h2h with McMahon in the marking drill)
- Eyre just springs off the ground whenever he flys for a mark, impressive unit.
- McInnes looked in imposing shape and used the ball well.
Was a stock standard session, 4 groups rotating through 4 main drills. Country boys were to follow but I Couldn’t stay unfortunately, wanted to see JUH and Reid in action.
My final rankings will be out tomorrow night.
No comma makes that funny. It’s on the 9th silly
Not of Baltas similar traits, I rated balta top 15 in his draft year and was surprised he slid so far. It’s hard to know what Richmond will do, will they reach a bit on someone who they want in their system (like they did they dow) or will they take best available. Someone I wouldn’t discount for the tigers someone like Poulter and Richmond playing him on a wing. Thanks for your assessments I've enjoyed reading them.
Just on Richmond, the midfield has probably the most depth of any line with RCD, Ross, Bolton, Dow, Martyn, Graham and maybe Cumberland all under 21. Where we are lacking is in the KPP stocks with only Garthwaite and Miller defensively and Coleman-Jones in attack who's more a ruck/forward.
With that in mind, do you see any prospects in KPP's that could be best 22 for the Tigers in a couple of years time? Someone like Balta would be awesome, do you see anyone with similar traits who might be available at our 1st selection?
Oh, with the Doggies, do they lose those picks used on matching a JUH bid or are they moved to the back of the draft?
I think his name gets him more hype in the media than others, but that doesn’t matter on recruiters eyes. I think he’s a solid player but doesn’t have any really outstanding qualities for me and needed to show his ability to play inside this year. Some have Finlay Macrae going earlier but I tend to agree with you and ED on what I saw last year. I think he'll no doubt be a best 22 type midfielder but apart from his kicking nothing has really stood out that sets him apart from some others. Do you think his name perhaps sees him rated higher by some?
Twomey rates him higher than Jack at the same age and Jack went at pick 6 to the dogsI think his name gets him more hype in the media than others, but that doesn’t matter on recruiters eyes. Twomey said he was more advanced at the same age as jack(who was a late bloomer) does not mean he’s got the same ceiling as jack. Also helps that Jack is 192cmTwomey rates him higher than Jack at the same age and Jack went at pick 6 to the dogs
I dont really think Jack uses his height as much as a 191cm player would normally but Jack was 188cm when drafted and Fin is 185cm now so could also growTwomey said he was more advanced at the same age as jack(who was a late bloomer) does not mean he’s got the same ceiling as jack. Kolar has athletic traits but in my opinion he didn’t show enough last year to be top 50 worthy, as I mentioned in my post their were a few tall forward prospects who didn’t make it due to the lack of runs on the board Rosman, Allison, Kolar etc. Davies and Jefferies are listed because those are my rankings it’s not a phantom draft. My phantom draft will come out tonight. You haven't got ? L.Kolar in your top 50. If the Saints want to go tall, reckon he's the one they may take with their 1st pick. But, would be great if he slid out to our 2nd pick. And I reckon B.Laurie will go earlier. And why have you got Alex Davies & Joel Jeffrey their, aren't they? pre-listed.
3 Berry‘s on 1 list could be confusing especially when listening to the radio
Generally you have two man berries and a third is a mutation.3 Berry‘s on 1 list could be confusing especially when listening to the radio
Eddie Ford is definitely the steal of the draft, if he finds consistency he’ll put bums on seats for norfHey andleanback..who was the biggest steal on your eyes?
It feels like Curtis TaylorEddie Ford is definitely the steal of the draft, if he finds consistency he’ll put bums on seats for norf

Very happy with Curtis before he got injured. Hoping Ford shows something similar. Seems to be a more reliable and less injury prone version of Taylor GarnerIt feels like Curtis Taylorall over again.PLAYERCARDSTART5Curtis Taylor
