Andrew Gaff - Best second year player I have seen at the club

Love the kid. Love how he actually attacked the contest a few times last night too and actually won a couple. That side of his game will only further develop and add to his repertoir.

Just by how he handles himself in press conferences gives me the impression he has a very mature head on his shoulders.

Was great the other night - mini Judd!

Yes im aware they have nothing in common other than they are Victorian and both wear (wore) number 3.

God I hope he stays. Surely Shuey and Scooter (former Vics) can keep Gaff on side!

Atleast he's contracted for another 2 years at least.

Hill is not in Gaff's league, and that's not just me trying to put down Fremantle. Gaff already is/will stay the better footballer.

I woudln't mind Gaff developing Hill's leg though.

He's only a scrawny mutt, but we need to add 10metres to his kicking

Some impressive second years...

Gaff - 24 games, 591 disposals, 114 marks, 9 goals
Darling - 24 games, 131 marks, 53 goals
McKinley :p - 18 games, 42 goals
Priddis (22) - 24 games, 565 disposals, 128 tackles
Kerr - 23 games, 411 disposals, 20 goals
Judd - 23 games, 418 disposals, 29 goals
Cousins - 18 games, 263 disposals, 22 goals
Jakovich - 24 games, 205 disposals, 99 marks
Peter Matera (22) - 25 games, 535 disposals, 32 goals

Gaff's a little jet, but he's not #1 in that list.

Hang on that's - unbelievably - arguable. This kid is a young Simon Black clone - might be the best of all of them. What's the comparisons between running bounces and territory gained? And a raking left foot to boot. Every man and his dog is going to be sniffing around him when he comes out of contract. Probably the only bloke on our list I'd give a 5 year deal to tomorrow.

So trade for Pearce, delist Gaff?

Hey circle jerkers.... you better hope you've got a Swan, Danger, Ablett not a Stanton, Pearce, Delidio. He is an outside seagull at the moment and a very hard runner. Has he ever been tagged?? If he is any good he should be getting tagged in his second year, Hill was.

Anyway, enjoy him while you have him... our mate Schwabby from Melbourne will gobble him up in a year or two with a big money offer to join Jack Watts and Mitch Clark.

btw not sure how Matthew Boyd makes it onto that list???

Look pretty even in their second years - Gaff just gets alot more cheapies from sideways kicks on the back flank. In fact 20yo Hilly beat him for Cont Poss, Cont Marks, Tackles, Clearances, goals and 1%. How ya like them apples - and Hilly's not Victorian, another bonus. Enjoy.

Gaff's stats a shade better from what I can determine (didn't spend much time trying, **** dat).

Compare both players' 2012 stats and Gaff comes out much stronger.

10 wins to Gaff 8 to hill.

Not to mention that most of the stats 'battles' that Gaff win are a shit load more important.

Take your 1%ers and fk off spud.

I was just starting to get along with Freo supporters too but now I know why I hated them.

*angry at this guy not all freo supporters

Why don't you bring up Hill's stats this year (4th year) which will show Gaff shits on him (2nd year).

Has been tagged too, still finds a way to get in the game and do something unlike Hill.

I don't even dislike Hill but you're bein a dick about it on our forum so game on

Hmm. Docker logic would say that Pavlich deserves a pocket ahead of Cox in the AA team.

But Cox is from WA, and Pavlich isn't. Also explains why Buddy got in ahead of Slavlich.

Bad luck, eh?

Black has a career kick to handball ratio of 1.01. Gaff's is 1.56.

Magnificent player as he is, Black is not a renowned run and carry player, nor is he particularly quick.

If you want to compare early 2000s Brisbane to our current midfielders in terms of similar attributes then it would look something like this:

Voss - Kerr
Black - Priddis
Lappin - Gaff
Akermanis - LeCras?
Power - Shuey?

Them > us.
