Andy Collins v Shaun Grigg

probably not as much cos hes playing with confidence and the coach believes in him and dont kid yourself hes starring in a midfield with the likes of cotchin martin deledio and foley so for ffs call a spade a spade

Can't find too much wrong with this post.

Let's be honest, he'd certainly get a game ahead of the likes of Jordan Russell, David Ellard, Dennis Armfield and Aaron Joseph
Why would a mid/wingman get a game ahead of Russell who mostly plays half back and on Steve Johnson?

Apples and oranges.

Rusty isn't Gibbs by foot, yet he's a better kick than Grigg who is hopeless on his non-dominant side. Unike Gibbs, Laidler, Yarran, Tuohy and Russell, Grigg has never been trusted to take the kick outs.

Back Ratts over Hardwick who is coaching a side where Maric is their Kreuzer and Houli is their Yarran.

We wouldn't trade Tuohy for Grigg.
Does he still turn it over a bunch of times per game?
The last two years have been the only times Grigg has kicked it to a Carlton player lace out.

Bombed it straight to Scotland in 2011 as well.

I guess you're a star if you played well against Sydney who were without Goodes and Rohan.

whats incredible is that youre actually serious.
why dont you go back and discuss it on the carlton board with your clique and blow wind up each others arses,oh wait you cant coz the grigg thread got closed.the truth hurts

Richmond obviously won the trade because Collins was the equivalent of steak knives.

Grigg is a decent player behind the likes of Cotchin, Martin, Deledio in that midfield. Can find the footy but often butchers it by foot.

Grigg was a decent player behind the likes of Judd, Murphy, Simpson, Carrazzo, Scotland and had the potential to cement a spot in the mid rotations of a finals side but would of had to battle it out with Robinson, Curnow, Lucas, Ellard etc.

Fact is he wanted an easier option and took it. Does it worry me we lost a player not willing to earn his spot, no.

Can I admit Grigg is a decent player, yes but Carlton did not lose anything of significance...

more denial

2012 Stats Season to Date
If he played at Carlton, he'd be ranked #3 or #4 for disposal efficiency.
Scotland & Russell go 80%+ and Gibbs goes at 80%, Grigg is at 80% as well. Haven't gotten it down to decimal places.

As for Clangers...here is a list of players on Carlton's list that have a higher clanger rate per game than Grigg in 2012.

Yarran
Robinson
Ellard
Murphy
Walker
McLean
Jamison
Judd
Gibbs
Hampson
Armfield
Tuohy
Betts
Thornton
Carrazzo
Henderson
Simpson
Duigan
Waite

So, please keep talking him down. Happy with no-one rating him.

Oh princess would they not let you play with them.

thats flipping great another vfl spud signed on 3 years.
chris johnson just took up space, mclean deal hurt coz it cost us pick11 for a hack who is incredibly arrogant for someone so shit its almost embarrassing but this one really hurts coz we lost quality midfield depth that were crying out for

How did Carlton loose depth when the turncoat walked away from the club, after telling Carlton he was going to stay until he fled overseas on holidays and got his management to tell the club he was walking to Bitchmond. The gutless wonder didn't have the balls to EARN his spot in a strong midfield, so he walked to Bitchmond for guarenteed game time.

He wasn't earning his position in 2010, so he wasn't getting played. The guy has terrible disposal under pressure and no defensive side to his game, thus he couldn't get a game as an inside player, and his kicking is woeful, thus why he couldn't get a game as an outside player.

Seems to be kicking alright with Richmond, 3 goals at critical times sealed the game for us

Don't blame Grigg if your coaching staff cant identify talent, the poor bloke just wanted his pay straight into his bank account rather than in brown paper bags.

This should ease your pain

Grigg is a decent player. Has a bit of height which is good for a midfielder. Think he should spend a bit more time forward like he showed on the weekend. He'd get a game at most sides, including Hawthorn.

Yes, that was the underdeveloped Carlol version of Grigg. Obviously has flourished under a good development program at Punt Rd, as shown by the shut down roles he played over the course of last year, thus learning the necessary defensive traits. And as has been stated many times in this thread, his DE% is in the upper echelon of the league this season.

I introduce to you the new and improved Shaun Grigg - the Tigerland version :thumbsu:

Carlton supporters love to have their cake and eat it too... Happy to accept Laidler as a success story but refuse to acknowledge Grigg's improvement.

Some players just need the opportunity, new role or a new environment in order to reach their full potential. Grigg is playing good footy... Stop your sour grapes and admit it

Its good to see Grigg playing good footy, can only hope Collins works his way into the team during the year and has a crack (injuries have not helped).

You win some you lose some.

Jacobs hurts a lot more than Grigg though.

Just wondering if you realise whose list he is on right now? self pwnage anyone?

Oh dear! Self pwnage indeed. Perhaps you could have avoided it by having some comprehension of the point being made before running and quoting a small part of it ...

I wish the Blues never traded for Collins, duds like him are usually only found on shit club's lists.

Yep! Go back and have a second read you spanner! LOL

oh wait you cant coz the grigg thread got closed.the truth hurts

If you want to read that discussion you can view it in the past players sub board where it has been moved to. Not sure if you came here to look like a dill on purpose, but thanks for the show all the same :thumbsu:

Hilarious , couldn't earn a spot at Carlton ! Had 8 30 possession games for Bullants before being promoted and keeping his spot for the last 8 rounds. Did a hammy just before the final to miss out on another straight set defeat. By this time Blaire Hartley had already sold him on a different future.

Time will tell if he made the right call and looks like he's enjoyed the change up. I think Carlton are definately flag favorites this year but Flags are hard to win and you havent won yet.

You just can't tank for near on a decade and expect a flag is your god given right because you've made a conscious decision to win games in the last 2 years.

Get your hand off it Daryl !!!!!

Hate this crap , Grigg is going ok ! Would be holding his own at Carlton if he decided to stay.
