I just checked how much health insurance costs there.

For me as an individual it's $310 per month, for a nuclear family, it's $1,100 per month.

But then there's a thing called a deductible. Which for these plans were $4500 and $9,800 respectively.

You don't get paid any insurance money until you've forked out the whole deductible.

So even though you pay premiums, the first $4,500 of care is still on you and the insurance only kicks in with 50% after you've spent the premiums plus the deductible.

It's batshit insane.

Their healthcare system is also the most expensive taxpayer wise in the developed world from memory.

So they've got the double whammy; extremely expensive for the taxpayer, extremely expensive for the individual.

But the insurance companies make great profits and shareholder returns!

That is a system issue, not those operating within it. He did not deserve this at all.

This is a US government fail in that it allows companies to operate like this.

Suggesting it’s ok to kill people in streets just because you don’t like the wider system is a slippery slope.

Shameful post.
He’s killing people and benefiting from it financially, along with his board and shareholders.
Have a look in the mirror sunshine, the gall and audacity for you of all people on this site, one only need to type in your name and have a peruse through your disgusting posts on the Israel thread, you utter hypocrite!
Hopefully this is a trolley thought experiment happening in real time!👍

what are you even on about?

This has nothing to do with Israel.........But i suppose you don't have an issue with random people being killed in the street, so pretty much in line with your views on Israel/Gaza I guess. Imagine you'd be like a pig in mud with what's going on over there.

This is you just using very basic logic (terribly at that) to justify a murder.....because you don't like a broken healthcare system.

This guy's company rakes in $389bn per annum. It makes more revenue than Shell or Exxon Mobil and Google (Alphabet) and is just behind Apple.

I'm surprised the CEO of a company (I think he's CEO of a branch of it) this big and seen to be responsible for so many deaths was walking around without bodyguards.

If regular school shootings don't make you realize you need gun control then I doubt the killing of a CEO's will change either gun laws or the health system. Too many people make money out of both and the rest don't care enough for one reason or another. We should be grateful that we have a universal healthcare system, like every civilised country has.

Don't think gun control stops this though...

We have some of the tightest gun laws out of anyone in the world, and even we still have these types of assassinations. Usually, it's just bikies killing bikies though.

Thats true, even knowing they received direct threats recently.

Pretty bizarre.

It makes it a hell of a lot harder.

We also don't have the level of inequality the US does.

We're working on increasing inequality. Well, at least the Liberals and Labor are.

It's obvious to anyone who takes even a quick look that increasing inequality is a very bad pathway for society to take if you want to maintain stability.

Enough people get left behind and you're going to see major social problems.

According to a study from Stanford University, violence is the most effective way of reducing inequality. Or Pestilence, but that hasn't worked this time.

I’ll ignore your impetuous nonsense and zero in on the only thing that matters in this sublimely relevant word you managed as highlighted.
This in no way a random killing.
You do know(probably not, because I doubt you’ve read much more beyond the headline) that authorities recovered the three shell casings involved in the targeted, non-random shooting.
Engraved on each separate shell were “deny”, “defend”, “depose”.
It’s very clear that the response of the killer was anything but “random”.
This is 2nd Amendment natural selection at work.
And another thing, if CEO’s responsible for denying their citizens life saving healthcare to enrich themselves are unalived, so be it, I care more about the children not afforded the right to attend school without being gunned down by AR-15’s or any other machine with its sole purpose of creating mass death.
I’ll take the lives of the thousands of kids back over a few murderous CEOs every day, any day!
Save your thoughts and tarriffs for someone whom believes you’re a decent human and poster!🤌🏻

Gun control helps. There are probably 100,000+ Yanks pissed regarding their claims to health providers. Big pool of disgruntled folks, many of own guns. I suspect there might be a few copy cat killings. Better CEO's than kiddies at school I guess.

That will not at all happen, replaced with just another suit.

And shame on you for saying he got what he deserved.
Yeah I posted the exact same thing on another platform.
Like Drug Cartels, there is an enormous conga line of those willing to step in and take his place.
Here’s a fun fact, according to several sources, the meeting he was purportedly about to attend went ahead, unfazed seemingly by what had occurred, giving more credence to what you said.
Life must go on there’s gold in them sick folks!

This has probably done more to bring attention to their appalling insurance system than any amount of lobbying would.

It’s a broken system, in a country full of broken systems.

Telling people ‘oh well it’s the systems fault’ is little comfort when everyone knows anyone with the power to do so, will do nothing to fix the system.
It’s ok, the Donald wil fix it all he’s gonna charge everything this time…he’s in it for the people

not arguing it doesn't help. but we even have these types of assassinations in Australia, with very tough gun laws.

it's just usually gangland.

It's obviously the level of inequality in their healthcare system that is the driver

what a bunch of incessant drivel.

I'm not arguing this guy isn't an arseh*le, or that the system is not broken. Simply saying he didn't deserve to be murdered, neither did the people that were neglected insurance.

That is the systems fault. which is laid square at the US Government for allowing it to occur. They are to blame for the system they govern and foster.

But if you think murdering assholes with questionable ethics in the street is a 2nd amendment natural selection, like I said, you'd fit that bill tip to toe.

In any case it won't work. All that will happen is more private security will be hired, and already high health premiums will probably go higher. real brainiac move you utter genius.

The change comes from putting pressure on the government to enact. Not killing people in the street.

Almost every overthrow of the ruling class starts with targeted murders such as this. Where the oppressed draw lines between the oppression and the oppressor.

The 2nd amendment gives them the right to have the ability to take action against an oppressive ruling class. Is this really that far from that? Isn't this exactly why they have the 2nd amendment, to stop themselves being oppressed by an unelected ruling class?

The 2nd amendment is the right to bear arms, not to enact vigilante justice. As much as you don't like how this company operates, it is legal in the United States ergo, this is the US Governments issue.

Let's see when they catch this guy, how far that 2nd amendment defence gets him in court.

I suggest not very far.

Just a coincidence the insurer decided this today.

The point of the second amendment is to do illegal things to overthrow the Government. You would expect that oppressive Government to continue to oppress this person by putting him in prison.

The English executed the first American Revolutionaries too.

I don't think he expects to be pardoned.

Yes, but this guy didn't work for the government, nor had anything to do with the government. So again, it has nothing to do with the 2nd amendment.

no one's questioning his right to carry the firearm, Moreso his right to point it at another person and kill them.

it is just plain murder.

Oh yes, the change will come from electing an adjudicated rapist filling all departments with uneducated idiots with one sole purpose, enriching themselves and dear leader.
I’d fit the bill to be shot because I rip live saving medical needs from them do I?
Ahahaha, you’ve seriously lost the plot mate, keep digging down, I’ll be there with a torch to help you out.
More private security will be hired, that must be the Republican plan for higher employment at this stage.
Glasses house and all that, let’s see how this next 4 years plays out.
Here’s the rub though high IQ hirdy, once the leopard facing eating begins, the ones that voted for this serial moron will seek vengeance, the left can sit back and watch the shit show on HD.
Maybe I’ll throw twister game down the hole to you if you need a break from all your dull digging?
