Started with "I pray every morning with my children that something like this doesn't happen"
Maybe they should have prayed harder and truely absurd that they feel the need to pray for that.

Then ended with "God is good because he loves us and my children are safe"

The first announcement from the school was that they were "requesting prayers" because of the active shooter situation. I always wonder if they think surely if something this bad happens that they must be doing something wrong. But the way they spin it is that what they're doing, they're not doing hard enough.

It must be bloody easy being a lawmaker/Principal/leader over there. Any time something gets too difficult, just say "I put my faith in God that he will fix it, it's not for us mere mortals to be able to fix, so I'm just leaving it to the big guy. Peace." And nobody can argue with that, or they're denouncing God.

Most of the focus isn't even on 'taking' guns off people. It's having a sensible bare minimum level of gun control so troubled people can't just pop down the street and buy a gun. There's such an overwhelming amount of guns out there in the US that there's no way to put that cat back in the bag.

I would happily give up weapons if it contributed to the safety of school kids.

No your not going to stop every Psycho from waking up 1 day and deciding he is going to kill someone but you limit the damage he can cause.

What Howard did 28yrs ago changed Australia for the greater good and contributed to saving thousands of lives we look back at the horrific stabbing incidents and ponder how many more would be killed if he had a legally purchased gun.
