Mods? That's a pretty disgusting thing to say.I know people on here think of Jews as sub human
Calls for a judicial inquiry into antisemitism on university campuses. History repeating itself.
Jews too scared to visit the CBD on weekends or if they do they feel the need to hide any evidence they are Jews.
Antisemitic threats made against Jewish school students.
This has been bubbling along for over a year.
It's not that people "don't like it", it's that it means nothing to them (me included). Seriously, in this day and age, what Australians give a **** about Britain? It represents part of our history that you cant erase. Sure we can ultimately delete the Union Jack from our flag but to cancel any part of our history because you no longer like it is dangerous and counterproductive.
Still why is it divisive to have 3 flags as we currently do? If those flags aren't relevant to you that is fine- just focus on the Union Jack flag.It represents part of our history that you cant erase. Dutton is a pig in mud when it comes to culture wars. Anything he doesn't agree with or is the least bit progressive or modern must be 'woke nonsense'.Dutton of course is famous for toning societal tensions down when it comes to race or religion.
You get that "balancing the budget" was done by keeping welfare payments below the poverty line right?
What did the government actually do to tackle cost of living though? I'm interested in that one
Hard to say what's less democratic. Changing the constitution without a referendum or having a monarchy.Without a referendum? That wouldn’t be democratic
You can’t take people that vote Greens seriously.I don’t think I’ve ever read a post of yours that could be taken seriously. Seriously!

Is there any information on whether this recent anti Jewish terror attack was committed by radical Islam emboldened by the recent anti Israel rhetoric due to their behavior in Gaza or was it the skinheads emboldened by the recent anti Israel rhetoric due to their behavior in Gaza?
Very easy to say.Hard to say what's less democratic. Changing the constitution without a referendum or having a monarchy.
I switched from ALP to teal in Kooyong. But put liberal last and always will. Alp voters switching to lib in these seats. Just why? The long trend is away from liberal and state seat hawthorn had a labor mp for a while
Stage set for teal challenge in blue-ribbon seat of Bradfield as Paul Fletcher resigns — Guardian Australia
Moderate faction to rally behind Gisele Kapterian, a Salesforce executive and former Liberal staffer, in the North Sydney seat to combat independent Nicolette Boeleapple.news
Sometimes I wonder how Sky News survives... And then I read posts like this...Until we vote in a new flag we are stuck with one. There can be other flags but they should not occupy the same prominence as the Australian flag.
Pretty much every country in Europe displays their national flag and the EU flag...Because it is not a flag that represents the majority of Australians. The Torres Strait flag means even less to us.
It is also confusing to outsiders. Name other countries that fly multiple flags. Genuine question. There may be some but I don’t know which.
If you seriously want the indigenous flag as our flag take it to a plebiscite or referendum. But don’t shove it down our throats like some local councils are doing in Melbourne
The state seat of Hawthorn had a Labor MP for one term only: literally the shortest "while" possible save for a resignation or death of an MP.
Imagine being so stupid to go on Triple J and say this:
So why don't they say that? Why don't they say they want house prices to stay the same while wages catch up?You really think the Government wants a significant drop in house prices? That would be a killer scenario for them.
The issue has always been unsustainable house prices rising at a level far greater than wages. The ideal scenario is house prices rising at the same rate at wages. The horse has already bolted on that one historically.
This is what will make Albanese a single-term majority Government.
And then in his second term, in minority, he'll have two choices.
1. Try to save the duopoly by criticism of his own Govt.
2. Actually show some leadership (absent from this term) and pass legislation which helps most people by working with a large array of independents who are much more sensible than the LNP who he's been trying to appease.
What would the alternative be if we didn't have a central bank managing interest rates? A government deciding when to change interest rates based on what will boost its electability?RBA governor said interest rates cuts ‘weren’t even considered’ at recent meeting.
So WTF do we have them for? And people slam unions for being useless

The RBA has made it clear what needs to happen with inflation for interest rates to come down. The underlying inflation rate needs to be between 2 and 3% and the measure of inflation that the RBA most closely watches when it sets interest rates rose in October to 3.5 per cent annually. Its frustrating but...
Sorry, no I agree with what you said! I think there is a lot of tension between the government and RBAThat wasn’t my question. Don’t we think they should be ‘considering it’ even if no change?
I think they probably did, but lied that they didn’t. They seem fairly unnacountable
