AFL site is wrong. It has WA with 7.4.47 and has listed six single goal scorers, Waterman kicked 2.

The 1997 group is atrocious collectively and i'm not sure how well they're drilled as a team, they also struggle to make space for each other and struggled with zone defense. Some times a squad can simply lack the right balance of players and once beaten out of the middle you will struggle on the outside.

WA has no inside midfielders of quality and just a few well rounded types like Clark, Bennett, Snadden and Stewart the later who has missed most of the champs. Is weak in KPP strength, with Smith the only really draftable KP from the 97 group. I thought Bailey Rodgers was WA's best inside player and still do but his quality is questionable now. Plus WA fielded one of their weaker teams for the tournament with no Hura, Seton or Pepper.

Shame because poor team performance detracts from an individuals ability.

Snadden and Ridley only ones I rate with maybe Clark.

Today was Stewart's first game in three months, we might have been better if he was available from the start.
WA miss a player with his attack on the footy.
 
watched theast qtr of the u18 game. Waterman is going to be a beast - his tackling is very good and has a good set shot. Hopefully will move into the midfield next year.

Bottom placed Colts side; Subiaco. But the numbers are impressive and the time in the state squad and in the champs has probably done him some obvious good.
