Anyone else think we will win this week?

We'll win this, win the next 2 weeks, finish outside the 4 and smash the Bulldogs in the first week of the finals, knock off Sydney and Geelong over the next 2 weeks and then, having beaten every team in the comp for the second year running, meet the Hawks in the big dance at the G and lose by 10 goals.

There are two ways to win this game:
1. To implement some better strategies and/or set plays to improve our midfild strength. It is a bit too late for 2016 now. Therfore it has left with only the next way.
2. Play a lot harder, some of our players have been far too gentle. If you don't rob the ball out of your enermies, they are not going to give it to you until they score!
With this in mind, Eagles by 88 points.

I hate to be negative, but no way, absolutely no way. I've seen nothing from this team in 2016 to suggest we're able to stand up in big moments and command control of big games. We have basically zero inspiring leaders backwards of 50 (I consider JK our only genuine inspirational leader out there right now), what I would give for Beau Waters to be back out there right now (he would be embarrassed at the current team's lack of hardness and heart).

If we get within 5 goals I will be shocked. If we win, I don't know which feeling will be stronger - delight or absolute disbelief. I am happy to be proven wrong but very much doubt I will be.

I think we have turned a corner mid way through the 2nd quarter against the purples.
We can win. Should also win the two after that.

Finals I'm not so confident in. Unlike last year where we beat every team we haven't looked up to it so it's likely a bridge too far.

Not sure if you're being serious about the bold part. I'll take a guess - that's a very funny joke you made!

Nope. It took until our pathetic inside 50 count against a much better Melbourne at home to realise we weren't really in this years flag race.

We turned a corner against a decent midfield with Freo and a win against GWS away could really get the ball rolling.
We can beat the Hawks in Perth and our record in Adelaide is the best in the comp.

The Crows might do a WCE 15 and choke in the last round heading into finals.
Not often when a top 8 teams beats another top 8 team twice in one season.

In that case I admire your optimism, albeit perhaps a little strange. Last year's team I definitely agree would be a chance, but this team lost to Collingwood. The same Collingwood that just lost to Richmond. Freo put the cue in the rack weeks ago, I would not be taking anything significant out of that win, other than the fact that it was the same 5 or 6 that got us back in the game, and made blokes like Le Cras look good in the second half.

The record might be good against Adelaide over the journey, but they will absolutely smack the living suitcases out of us in Round 23. Also, we didn't choke in the last game of 2015, we beat St Kilda at home (and basically tanked the week before against Adelaide over there). We may beat Hawthorn next week as they're struggling right now, but it's a 50/50 IMO.

Unfortunately I don't see how we can possibly beat GWS this week, unless of course we manage to find 2015 form out of nowhere. One can only hope!

If we win this and Hawks we should cement our spot for 5th. then play GWS in prelim again to go GF. :) wishful thinking

Have no idea why but for some reason I think we will win this week, not sure if it is just my head trying to ruffle the ladder a bit but I genuinely think we will win.
Nothing logical about, GWS have us covered in most areas.
Anyone else thinking like this or should I get my head examined.

Yes had same feeling all week we would win this one.

I think you're a big chance.

I've got a bad feeling about today.

Last time I had this feeling was when we played Collingwood.

Had my optimism last week, against Adelaide, the Dogs and so many weeks before. This team has ****ed around for too long this year. At the stage where all I want is effort. Play to 100%, we can be the best in the comp and will beat GWS. Getting sick of all the talk from the club about "peaking at the right time" and "we saw positives in...blah blah....patch of play." Just ****ing do it.
At the stage where I'll be happy with intent. We're not going anywhere in this finals series.

So it's too late to start using our brains but not too late for the players to just start trying harder? Because they just haven't really been trying all this time?
