The most enjoyable blow out final, (that the Hawks have not dealt) I have watched. Hopefully the Crows can wipe the smirk off the Tiprat Milnes face next week!!

Jeebus! You know your side is in trouble, when you are kept to 5 measly in a second half of football. A stat like that really shows how one team has completely dominated another.. not just in one position too, but over the entire ground!

If you're trying to draw any correlation between that massacre tonight - which was messier than watching a hemophiliac shave with a cheese grater - and Hawthorn last week, you really should lay off drinking aftershave.

Dominated? It was like you blokes were hooked up to little horse carts, with gypsy bridles and matching saddles, and paraded around Crow Park until the crowd got sick of your whimpering.

And then, Demetriou, like the great emperor he is, gave the 'thumbs down' sign to end the humiliation.

Yeah well what does that say about the team they beat to get in there. At least we've improved 4 spots :thumbsu:, not drop 8 spots .

It says you wasted a week that would have been better spent growing some balls in the pre-season.

Yeah but our most recent Premiership Cup is a lot more shiny than yours :p

I mean, have you guys won a Premiership in the digital era? We have!

Oh what a shame....gee when we went into the finals for the first time in ages we beat the not so might Adelaide Cows......tsk tsk tsk Essendon.
You always find a way to put it so elequently Rusty....:D

I've never been one to barrack for anyone else but Hawthorn but you could have been forgiven for thinking I was a Crows supporter last night.

Man, that was beautiful, couldn't have scripted it better myself. :)

96 points .... count them .... 96!!! The best part is knowing how much all the trolls on this board last week are feeling right now ... and you can bet they aren't in the Adelaide board congratulating them for their win. As a matter of fact, if you has the world's most powerful telescope, you would still find it hard to locate an Essendon supporter today.

It was worth missing the finals to watch that last night. If I were a journalist, I'd love to throw a microphone under Lloyd's nose and ask, "Do you still think missing 4 weeks, letting your team down in the finals, and allowing the Hawks to visit the draft table before you as good leadership? Essendon were never going to win a flag, so why bother?".

And finally ... Quinn :D Glad he ain't OUR problem.

......can someone tell me in detail what this Quinn fella did? I missed most of the game unfortunately.

It's more a case of what he didn't (or couldn't) do. He kept over-running the ball, falling over, and then finally he was alone on the goal line, all he had to do was turn around and have the ball hit some part of his foot for a goal, and he missed it completely. Worst player I've ever seen at AFL level. I'm going to watch a Div 2 amatuer league game today, and I will see plenty of guys out there with more ability than Quinn.

Still managed to kick a goal though and find some space. Set up a couple too. He's an easy target for supporters and commentators to knock, but he was far from Essendon's worse. In a team that was humiliated, he wasn't the reason.

Lovett's game was more dissapointing. It really hurts watching your team lose a final.

That being said, I'd say it's a lot better to have lost like that in a final, then not have made it at all. If Essendon lost last week in a close scrap with the Hawks, they wouldn't have had first hand experience of how far away they are behind the top teams, and how much improvement is needed to make a statement come finals time.

Living in the past is so EASY in the digital era! Just downloaded a torrent of the 84 and 85 grandfinals. :) :thumbsu:

Funny about that. My 1984 replay always stops at the end of the 3rd Quarter ;) Great game up until then...

1985. We have nothing to be ashamed of. Essendon were clearly the best team of the year and by a long margin. We clearly were the 2nd best team with distance to the 3rd team. I think Carlton 3rd best and that is how the results went. The Bombers in 1985 unbeatable. Too strong with so many good players available to come in if required to cover injuries.

Of course 1986 was completely different with Kevin (The team wrecker) Sheedy ripping the heart of the team out and moving out good team men (Bradbury, Carey & 1 other) and replacing with mercenaries only interested in $$. Bradbury and Carey not the best of players by any means but they did play for the jumper.

Wouldnt they have already worked out they arent good enough after being thrashed by Freo?
